WILL SELL TO HIGH BIDDER OR CALL ME FOR A BUY IT NOW 530 FIVE 91 700 ONE !! I can assist in delivering this bike in my enclosed Toy Hauler almost anywhere in the Lower 48, or even asisst in overseas shipping. I export bikes and deal with handling and shipping every day. This bike is out of my personal Honda Collection. There is a lot of info and photos here, grab something to drink and take your time looking over everything closely before you submit a bid! Please do not hesitate to contact with ANY questions! 1979 first year Honda CBX, three owner original, un-molested and incredibly well cared for. This has been a California/Northern Nevada bike with no rust and no corrosion, always, indoors, lightly used, fanatically maintained and cared for. I am by no means a CBX expert, but am a huge Honda fan and have a small collection that changes yearly, NSR's, RC30's, NC30's etc etc, I have enjoyed this bike for awhile now but am ready to let it go! I have a buy it now price in mind, but the bike is being offered at NO RESERVE AND IT WILL GO TO THE HIGH BID! I believe I am the third owner, second owner was a well known Honda guru and I received the bike in its current state, I have ridden it sparingly. The miles may go up a bit before the auction ends, but will be less than 150...if that! This CBX is a very clean un-restored example, a nice survivor that is mostly original. The mods it does have are all to make it a nicer weekend rider; peroid correct exhaust, shocks, etc. The best thing about this CBX is that it not only runs / rides perfect and is a turn key bike in every way is that it is also original enough to keep as a collector and have on display (It cuurently sits inside my office now). Mechanically the bike is perfect. I would put this CBX up against any other in the country in terms of how well it starts, runs and rides. IT CARBURATES PERFECTLY! I think about 4 years ago the carbs were completly gone through, it starts, idles and runs like it should, fueling is as good as one could want on a CBX in my opinion. The airbox has been opened up and it has a DG 6-1 exhaust. There are no flat spots, it pulls smooth and clean to redline, power is very linear. Choke works with no issues, it starts, runs and idles like it should. There are no leaks, as seen in the photos, everything is very clean. About 4-5 years ago the alternator was gone through by previous owner. I do not have the complete details, but it was a rebuild using NOS and some aftermarket part to ensure it works correctly (I know these are known as a weak point). ALL electrical works as it should, all lights, dash lights and switchgear, NO ISSUES! The valve cover has been powdercoated...other than that all finishs on the engine are original and factory. The Front tire is pretty much new, under 200 miles, still has the nubs on it. Rear tire is less than a 1000 miles and pretty much near new. Aftermarket parts consist of the DG 6-1 exhaust, aftermarket SW Rear Shocks, Braided Brake Lines on the front and Blue Anodized Air fork caps. I *think* but am not sure that the handle bars are the lower Euro version...CBX experts please correct me if I am wrong and I will update listing! All fluids are recent, brakes in great shape, tires as stated are near new, no leaks, no mechanical issues in any way, it sits on a battery tender always. COSMETICS: To my knowledge, cosmetically everything is original (save for powdercoated valve cover), the tank does have some of the typical fade on the top as seems to be fairly normal with the 79. The seat is beautiful; cover and trim in near excellent shape. Side covers are also in excellent condition with no broken tabs. The rear tail has two small cracks as shown in photos and there is some slight wear around the pin striping. The switchgear and gauges needles show some very slight fading. The best part of this bike is how clean the chassis is. No rust, NO CORROSION, all original warning stickers in places, little things like footpegs, brake calipers and cables are all in way abover average condition. The bike may not be time capsule museum quality but it is *INCREDIBLY CLEAN*, original and best of all rideable. Flaws are shown in photos, small paint chips on tank, mostly around seam, paint fading on top of tank, hairline cracks in tail cowl, there are also some small scratches on left case cover. This is a true survivor and a rare oppurtunity to own a clean, well sorted and un-molested '79. PLEASE look at all the pictures closely, take note of all the up close detail shots of the entire bike! NO SURPRISES. NO STORIES. NO DISAPOINTMENTS! I reserve the right to end auction early! THESE PHOTOS SHOW SOME OF THE SMALL FLAWS ON TANK AND TAIL COWL!!!!! On May-31-13 at 08:53:12 PDT, seller added the following information: An astute eBayer has pointed out that the bike does have the "sport kit", lower bars and pegs.
