Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this 1969 Dodge Charger SE. The original color was yellow not orange. I do not know a lot about the history of this car but I will do my best to describe it. The engine is a 440ci, with a 727 automatic. These are not original to the car. I have the original numbers matching 383ci, and 727 automatic transmission to go with it. The previous owner removed both to upgrade to the 440. According to the previous owner, the current 1973 440 engine and tranny were removed from a vehicle that was totaled with 7000 miles on it. The engine runs and the car can be moved or loaded on a trailer but it is not drivable. The kick down shift linkage from carb to the transmission is missing. The radiator has been replaced with an aluminum one with dual electric fans that are not wired in yet… This is the main reason it is not drivable. The transmission supposedly was rebuilt with the engine but I don’t know this for sure. It does have a leak but it looks like it is all from the pan seal. The dual exhaust system looks to be new. The drive train is solid. It has drum brakes all around. The condition of the underbody is solid with a small rust hole in the driver’s side floor pan. The trunk pan has rust but is solid and should not need to be replaced. This has the vector rims on it. I think the driver’s side rims will need to be cleaned up where the bead is due to an extremely slow air leak. (Takes months to leak down) All of the glass in the vehicle is good. The trim for the glass is complete except for the rear window lower passenger side corner trim. It is missing. (Shown in photo) I am not an auto body man but the body seems very solid. It will need to be repainted. The paint is cracked and faded. Some of the quarter panels have small bumps that look like hail damage on them except they are convex. I have no explanation for this other than maybe they were straighten from the inside. I had a body man look at the car and he said all quarter panels could be reused. The interior upholstery is fairly new. The seats look to be 1970 instead of 1969 judging by the upholstery pattern but that is just my guess. The center counsel is complete but has a 3” hole in the top of it. The dash pad and dash panel will need to be restored. The radio is missing but all of the instrumentation is present… even the tic toc clock. I bought this car in 2010 with the intention of turning it into a General Lee replica. Due to the very common Divorce theme everyone knows all too well… I am selling it. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping of the car after purchase. I will work with the buyer any way I can to help. Car is sold as is with no warranty. A Non-refundable $1,000.00 deposit is due within 3 business days after auction end. Final Payment must clear my bank with 10 total business days after auction end. This car has a title. I will not sell car to bidders overseas or those with zero or poor feedback. I will delete bidders at my discretion. If you do not have the funds, do not bid. I am happy to answer any questions you have the best I can. Thank you for bidding. On Jun-25-13 at 16:44:50 PDT, seller added the following information: This vehicle has the original fender tag still on it.On Jun-30-13 at 18:00:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Sometime over the winter the front windshield got a hairline crack in it so it will probably need replacement. The vehicle does run. I just started it today and moved it out of my back yard.
