Vehicle Detail
If this car does not sell this time, I will be shipping it to my storage in Wisconsin for a future project of mine. For Sale. 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 HO, 4-Speed Project Car. This car has been parked in a back yard since the 1970's when it broke the nylon timing sprocket teeth on the cam shaft. The engine has bent push rods and valves, however the engine is at standard bore with almost no ridge and the block with heads is undamaged. Once I removed both heads and the damaged push rods, I was able to roll this engine over without any effort. This car is a numbers matching car, however it will need front floor repairs and/or patches and a complete trunk floor with lower rear quarter repair work. All the vehicles sub-members and suspension along with the glass and dash is good. I have the original 4-speed radiator which is already recored at a cost of $600.00. This car also comes with a front console and the complete front and rear seat assemblies. Here are some numbers off the car for your review. Body-Tag: 68-22437-LOR / Body 2941 / TR 251 / Paint G-G Block Stamping: Its WQ. (YES, I checked the Stamping Three Times on the Block and It's a WQ.) Head Casting: #16 / Non-AC Car / Limited Slip 10 Bolt Rear Differential. If you have any questions you can call Paul after 7:00pm Tucson, AZ time at 520-326-5099. Division Series: Located to the right of the Model Year digits. Indicates the division, model, series, and body style. This number matches the first five digits of the V.I.N. on all 1967-71 models. (22367 = Pontiac (2), Firebird (23), Convertible (67)) Note: The Firebird Designation (23) on the Body Tag could be (24) which would be (Std. Interior or in some cases Spe. Interior) or 26 (Cus. Interior) on the 1967-68 cars. Then, this body tag designation will not match the VIN which will still be 23. This Car is a True 1968 Firebird 400 HO car with a WQ Code Block, 4-Speed and Posi Rear Axle.
