Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1972 BMW R75/5 motorcycle. It was a one owner bike. He had purchased the bike while over in munchen germany. Rode it to those places stickerd on the bike , had it shipped back and took a few rode trips, and would drive it occasionally. Last on the road in 2000. It does not run, but turns over with great compression. Throttle snaps back, Mostly likely a carb cleaning and tune up to get it running again. Only 13,918 miles. It was built in 5/72. matching numbers #2991870. Brakes/ clutch work as they should. Metzler tires look good with about 70 percent left, appear to show no dry rot. Looks to have a very nice after market seat, after market exhaust pipes, a different looking fairing ,not sure what brand it is, but that is the way he purchased the bike. As far as the condition goes, for sure not a show bike, but would make a decent rider or mild restore. Some of the chrome shows some rust. The headlight was taken out under the fairing, along with the blinkers. Sorry no bags. Side covers look stock but where covered over. paint does look faded on the fairing. Tank has some scratches and some mild wear. Inside of tank looks to be clean. Still has some older gas inside. The fairing looks to have some scrapes on the left side of the fairing, and a small crack.Tail light looks to be taped, so most likely cracked. Also the right header looks to have a dent underneath, See pictures carefully. No damage on the motor, no broken fins or scrapes. Also the small metal piece on the main stand, for your foot, looks to be broken off, but have the piece to possibly re weld. Again a decent rider or mild restore. Comes with owners manual. And clear NYS registration. NYS started titles in the 1973. A registration is transferable just a title. If you have any questions please email .Sold as is. Please the bike must be out and payed for within 10 days of close of auction. I am a registered NYS motorcycle dealer, vintage motorcycle sales only. It is not currently NYS inspected,If you are a NYS resident please email me before bidding. Good luck bidding.
