Classic example of British racing Heritage with Italian Style from designer Giovanni Michelotti. The Triumph Spitfire is a small English two-seat sports car, introduced at the London Motor Show in 1962. The platform for the car was largely based upon the chassis, engine, and running gear of the Triumph Herald saloon. As was typical for cars of this era, the bodywork was fitted onto a separate structural chassis, but for the Spitfire, which was designed as an open top or convertible sports car from the outset, the ladder chassis was reinforced for additional rigidity by the use of structural components within the bodywork. -- The vehicle for sale is a 1974 Triumph Spitfire 1500 that has undergone restoration some years ago. The odometer 60,060 miles is believed to be accurate. The Spitfire comes with Factory-manufactured hard-top. The interior is good shape, no rips or tears into the leather seats. Original Walnut dash with leather steering wheel. Wood Shift knob. All panels and the carpet have been previously replaced. The car has the original tool kit, a new spare tire. The original radio is included. Seat Belts work, All lights work. Wipers work. No SMOG required. 4 Brand New Tires. The engine is in very good condition and starts immediately and runs well. The transmission is a four speed manual. Front end is solid and strong. Independent Suspension in good shape. The car has been kept as original as possible.
