1965 FORD GALAXIE 500 CONVERTIBLE392 CUBIC INCH ENGINE...AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONPOWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKESTHE PAINT IS SUPER NICETHE INTERIOR IS BEAUTIFUL VIN 5U65X1411332MILES::: READING 03645 AND I'M SURE YOU CAN ADD 100,000 PICTURES: The wind started to blow and it started to sprinkle rain when I took my pictures, you will see some rain drops and stuff of the tress on the car. I did not put the convertible top boot on because I was in a hurry to get the pictures before rain. I also didn't was the bugs off the front bumper down low. WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE CAR: I think it super nice, the black paint is brilliant, the red interior beautiful, the power top good, the chrome nice, the glass clear, and the mechanical very good. The biggest defect you might find if you come inspect is: 1. Some wear on the steering wheel (I will touch it up). 2. The dash pad is up a little on the front edge. 3. The brake booster is very touchy, I am used to this because a lot of the old Ford boosters are very touchy. What I mean by touchy is you don't have to put much foot pressure on to apply the power brakes. "I think your not going to get a perfect car for $16,400". I NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I work 6 days a weed and need a day to worship, spend time with family and rest my body and mind. I do answer my emails 2 or 3 times, I usually don't answer my cell phone. Life is more than just old cars! DO I HAVE TO BUY THROUGH EBAY MOTORS? No, most guys I sell to are not registered through ebay. TITLE: Clear Tennessee title in hand and the VIN matches the car. HISTORY: I can't tell you much. I bought the car from a older man at a big car show in Knoxville, Tennessee. He said he was getting old and had too many cars to take car of. He did say he had the car painted and that it was never painted before that. The title is from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, this is near me and where a large part of the Atomic Bomb was built for World War 2. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a 66 year old retired mechanic/classic car restorer/auto mechanics intructor, when I find a car I like, can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: The paint would be considered very nice, car has had 1 repaint. The paint has a brilliant shine, no rust bubbles, no dents or dings and the car is straight to look down the sides. The door jambs, under sides and lips are painted slick, looks like most all parts were taken off before paint. I don't think you will have any complaints about the paint. CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK: Over all the chrome would be considered nice, the window stainless steel and other stainless is very good, the front drivers headlight bezel is a little dull on the top and a couple of low scuffs on the front bumper. I may have missed something, but you would have to look for a flaw to find one. INTERIOR: No bad smells, no wear, no holes, no real fading. The steering wheel has worn paint (I will touch it up), the dash pad is loose at the front edge (it up just a little). GLASS: Good clear glass, the windows roll up and down good, the windshield looks new, windows are not power. CONVERTIBLE TOP: The top is in near new condition, no wear, no holes, and the plastic rear window is clear, it is power operated and I do have a boot cover in the trunk. ENGINE: The engine is a strong running 352 cubic inch, is has no knocks, no rattles, no blue smoke and starts and runs good. EXHAUST SYSTEM: The exhaust is in good used condition, the mufflers are old school glass packs. TRANSMISSION: 3 speed automatic that shifts good. REAR-END: Its good with no whines or growels, its a 9 inch. BRAKES: Good for drums, they are drums all around and power assisted. The booster is very touchy, you don't have to put much pressure on it to apply the brakes. STEERING: Good, the car drives good to me, it is power steering and has that old big car float. WHEELS AND TIRES: Like new chrome wheels with spinner, spinners are a old school thing, the Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires look new. LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, interior lights work. GUAGES: They work, the gas gauge and speedometer work. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 66 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 40. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 43 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car, this can be by PayPal, but I will not take full payment by PayPal. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest and fastest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! TRADES: Please no trades! BOTTOM LINE: My price is $16,400. I'm asking more on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price on the local markety and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com IS THERE A WARRANTY? No!
