We will not start out this auction text by telling you how wonderful these old Jaguars are, how refined, fast, pretty, etc. 3.8S Jags can be. You already know that if you are reading this. This 3.8S Jaguar is quite solid and would be an excellent restoration candidate. The body was professionally repaired and painted many years ago but the car was never completed. The floors, rocker panels, quarters, radius arm mounting points and jacking points are all very solid and sound. There are no signs of accident damage. The chrome is pretty straight and I believe it's all complete, although some of it needs replating. The leather is pretty dry but the car comes with a complete black leather interior in better condition if the buyer wishes. The original red Wilton wool carpets are dirty but in good condition. The interior woodwork needs some veneer repair but it overall in sound condition. The engine turns over freely. The carburetors have been removed and appear complete. The car comes with a very good grille and pretty much any other parts which do not show up in the pictures. Parts are easy to get for older Jags. We sell most of what you might need, and there are several major US companies specializing in older Jaguar parts. Some folks are afraid of them, but compared to a modern car, an old Jag sedan is really pretty simple. Take your time and enjoy working on it. We have a '63 3.8 which we enjoy regularly. With the right attitude, an old Jag is more fun than a barrelful of monkeys.
