Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1990 Ford Mustang GT convertible. It is being sold without the engine, transmission, and other components so of course it is not in working order. Please read the entire listing and look over all of the pictures before bidding. The odometer reading listed in this auction is what is shown on the odometer, but NOT ACTUAL MILEAGE. The actual mileage of the car is roughly 175,000 miles. The instrument cluster is not even installed, simply included with the car. Check the pics and you can see the tachometer is not in the instrument cluster. No speedometer cable is included and the wiring for the gauges is gone. The car has a clear title, but the buyer MUST sign a paper stating that the car is sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTY and for PARTS ONLY. The PARTS ONLY bit is required because the vehicle does not include all of the original safety equipment and I need to document that the buyer is aware that the car is incomplete and no warranty is offered. You still get the clear title signed over to you once the car is paid for, at the time of pickup. I have owned it for about 12 years. The previous owner had it painted, and I have only had the front bumper cover redone after it developed some cracks. I was told that the person who painted it before I owned it probably did not use enough flex additive in the paint, and that's why there is some cracking on the rear bumper and ground effects as shown in photos below. The Cobra grill insert was painted separately. The hood is a Harwood 4" cowl, and is not painted. The black coating on the hood matched the car so well that I never had it painted. There are definitely flaws in the paint, and I tried to show some in the photos. I had the convertible top redone after I purchased the car, in 2001 or 2002. The top is in good shape and the top goes up and down with the electric motor. The rear window is glass, instead of the cheaper plastic option that some use. The original GT tail lights were replaced with LX tail lights. The headlights and marker lights are in clear aftermarket housings. It has Sylvania Ultra Star headlight bulbs that, combined with the clear housings, make the headlights much brighter than stock. The car has Maximum Motorsports full length subframe connectors and a Maximum Motorsports roll bar with swing outs. You can swing the side bars out to enter and exit the car easier, or totally leave those bars out so you can get in and out of the front seats just like a car with no roll bar. The rear end is the stock 8.8" with Richmond 3.73:1 gears installed and a Trick Flow differential cover/girdle. It has an Aeromotive sumped fuel tank, A1000 fuel pump with dual fuel filters, and braided stainless lines running to the engine bay. The fuel pressure regulator, fuel rails, and other fuel system components are not inlcuded. I forget the brand now, but it has an automatic transmission cooler with braided stainless lines installed. There is also an aftermarket, I believe Perma-Cool, power steering cooler installed. There is a hole in the engine bay where a turbo kit was installed, shown in pics below. Otherwise, it's cleaner than the typical Mustang. I welded up a lot of the holes in the engine bay and did some filler work to smooth it over a few years ago. The holes for the heat and A/C have been welded over. The sway bar mounts were cut off of the frame to smooth it out, since I wasn't using the front sway bar anyway. I made new brake lines to fit better under the lip at the rear of the engine bay. After all of it was done I primed, painted, and clear coated the engine bay myself with spray cans. No computer is included with the car. It still has the wiring harnesses for the original EFI setup, but they have been modified and mounting locations have been modified. A lot of connectors that were not essential for the car to run were removed, as well as the wires. The spout connector was removed when I installed an aftermarket engine management system. The battery was relocated to the trunk with a cutoff switch for track use. The Optima battery is 1-2 years old, but stays on a Battery Tender 99% of the time to try and keep it healthy. The car is wired for a 3G alternator. Lots of components are mounted inside of fenders, wires are ran in different spots, some wiring is missing. Please be clear on the fact that this car will need wiring work if you plan to have working gauges, stock style EFI setup, stereo, or other options. The chassis wiring for things like lights, top, windows, etc... is in working order. Like the powertrain wiring, some is relocated or missing. The car has no HVAC. All wiring is removed and the holes in the firewall are welded up. The center HVAC vent is missing from the dash. I was using an ABS plate where the stereo should be and for the shifter plate. No stereo or speakers are included with the car. If you don't see it in the pics, it's not included. I WILL NOT SHIP THIS VEHICLE. This auction is for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Buyer needs to be present at the time of pickup to sign paperwork. The car cannot be picked up until full payment is received and cleared. The vehicle MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN TWO WEEKS of auction end. The sooner the better. I'm able to be around most of the time on weekdays or weekends. The car cannot move on it's own power, so I would suggest having a rollback or at least a winch on your trailer. I have no way to move it. The car is located in Preston, MD 21655. Payment must be made by PayPal or cash. CASH OR PAYPAL ONLY! NO CHECKS OR OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT! Payment must be received in full within 7 days of the auction ending. The winning bidder cannot take possession of the vehicle, parts, or any paperwork until after full payment has been made. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTY. Passenger side, ground effects by front bottom of door. Passenger side, bottom rear of door. Passenger side, behind rear tire. Rear bumper. Driver side, door moulding. Driver side, ground effects, bottom front of door. Hole in left of photo, just behind radiator support/headlight, was for the HP turbo kit that the car once had. Thanks for looking. Happy bidding!
