Vehicle Detail
I am re-listing my 1959 International truck due to a non-paying high bidder. If you are the successful bidder please carry through with the terms of this auction. If you have 10 or less purchases on Ebay please contact me before you place your bid. Here is a rare International Harvester B-120 3/4 ton, 4-wheel drive pickup truck. This truck was found in a high desert community of Southern California. Originally purchased by the U.S. Forest Service for work in the mountain communities of Southern California. I have included pictures of the line setting ticket to verify delivery destination and who the original owner was. The line setting ticket indicates that this truck was delivered to International Harvester Company, 6444 San Fernando Rd, Glendale, Calif., and then to the US Dept of Agriculture Depot Supt., US Forest Service 701 N. Santa Anita Drive, Arcadia, Calif. The GSA contract number is shown also. I am assuming it served the area mountains above Glendale, Calif. This truck has the original forest service tool holders on the right side running board and a rifle tripod (included in the sale) found under the front seat. The truck has 79776 original miles with the original drive train. The engine is 264 ci which is original to the truck, no power steering. The left fender has a cut out for the spare tire. I have the spare tire but not the holder, I am trying to find an original type holder. The forest service decals in the windows are reproductions of the originals. There are two maintenance stickers under the shift pattern plaque, kind of a nice surprise on the documentation trail. Another decal near the speedometer pod has the Government warning about unauthorized use of the truck. Has the ultra rare vacuum gauge on the dashboard, and it works good. Please review the pictures for details of the maintenance cycles, the one visible has some interesting entries. The one behind it cannot be seen, just a couple of edges. The truck was originally painted forest service green and there is evidence of the green color under the hood and on the underside of the fenders and door jambs. The second owner painted the truck white, but it does not seem to have a clear coat, only the base coat. I have been able to buff the finish to make it shine. During the auction I will continue to bring out the paint shine. The following work has been completed on this truck: Full brake service and repair including, master cylinder, front and rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes and related hardware Brake light switch New battery, battery hold down bracket, and new battery cables New exhaust system from the manifold header ends to the tailpipe, including the muffler Oil filter & 30 W oil; 6 quarts New black glove box insert Headlight trim ring replaced (nice used one) Hood grill emblem replaced (nice used one) Replaced burned out headlight, park lights and tail lights New gear shift knob The truck still has the original, except one, T-3 headlights. There are original style seat belts stored under the seat cushion. The instruments in the dashboard pod are working, the finish on the numbers will have to be re-done due to the desert heat over the years. The truck has very good oil pressure. Some of the dashboard controls are difficult to operate. I will lubricate these so they work easier. The truck has a four speed transmission with compound low in 1st gear. Four wheel drive appears to be working and engages correctly . The truck has good oil pressure. The temp guage is not working, I will check into that and attempt to fix this issue. The truck has manual steering and would benefit from a grease lubrication, the brakes have the vacuum assist feature. The seat vinyl fabric is in very good condition with no splits or loose seams. There are three flat glass pieces that need to be replaced due to cracking, very easy and not expensive to replace. The tires will eventually have to be replaced, they are currently 8.00 x 19.5. The window tracks need some servicing and also the gaskets around the windows and doors. The windshield has a BB shot on the left edge with a crack, but the crack is not in the field of view. Bed tail gate has a dent on the top but does not affect the function of the tail gate. During the auction period I will continue to make small improvements, such as detailing. This is a great opportunity to own a rare truck with interesting history. I am expecting the line setting ticket to arrive any time and will post a picture of the document when I receive it. Please review all pictures and contact me if you have any questions or need more pictures. During the auction, better pictures will be posted on the auction site. There is surface rust on the cab floors, but not rust through on the sheet metal. The foot wells on both sides are in very good condition with only surface rust. I have not painted the floors so you can see the exact amount of rust present. The cab corners and angle brackets are in great shape as shown in the pictures. I have noticed evidence of bondo under the white paint in several areas. There are some dents on the fenders but nothing structural. Please review the pictures for any questions you may have on this rare truck. My name is Arnie and I can be reached at (949) 573-1139, or by email: feistyforlife@cox.net. The reserve price has been lowered from the first auction. A PayPal $500 non-refundable deposit it due within 48 hours of the auction close. The balance may be paid in cash, in person, certified funds. Funds must clear my bank before the truck is released. Please contact me regarding other payment that are accepted. Shipping of this truck to the buyers location is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I can assist with loading of the truck. There are no warranties stated or implied on this truck, additionally the truck is sold as is. Only US bidders for this auction are accepted. NOTE: For the winning bidder, at the close of this auction, please contact me regarding deposit and final payment options on this truck. My cell phone number is (949) 573-1139 or by email: feistyforlife@cox.net Thank you and good luck bidding. On Apr-29-13 at 17:37:59 PDT, seller added the following information: In checking the line setting ticket this truck was assembled with the BD-264 engine which is a 6 cylinder engine. The current engine is an International V-8, I believe it to be a 266 ci motor but I have not been able to verify the displacement. The engine runs very smooth with no noises or vibrations. I wanted to make sure I was truthful with the description. All else appears to be original.
