Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a beautiful 1959 Chevrolet Impala with 27,930 original miles. The car has most of its original equipment to include shocks, springs, carb, distributor, generator, interior and glass. I'd estimate that 50% to 60% of the paint is original. The body and underside are in excellent condtion. Vehicle runs great and is ready for summer cruising. Since I've had it, I've recored the radiator, rebuilt the brakes to include linings and wheel cylinders and replaced the gas tank due to sit time. I bought the car from the original owner's daughter back in 1998, the car sat in her attached garage since new. It was her father's car that he bought new on December 23, 1958 from Spielman Motor Sales Co in Brooklyn NY. I have the original bill of sale to go with the car. As with any used car, I welcome third party inspections and will take additional photos upon request. A $1000 dollar non-refundable deposit will be due within 48 hours of auction close. Final payment within 10 days of auction close or car will be re-listed. The car is located about 25 minutes from the Cleveland Ohio airport. Vehicle is sold as-is, where-is and does not include any warranty, expressed or implied. It is the buyer's sole responsibility to transport the car. I will make every effort to assist the new owner with making vehicle availble to shipper at the needed time. Thank you for looking. On Apr-15-13 at 06:28:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Will ship overseas with bank wire transfer and buyer arranging all shipping details. On Apr-16-13 at 09:58:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I didn't mention this earlier, but the car also has the orginal key, fan belt (goes with car, in excellent condition), and 3 of the 4 T-3 headlights; I also added a photo of an oil change sticker from August 24th, 1974 showing mileage at that time of 21, 979. It had just over 23K on the odometer when I bought it. According to the gal who sold it to me, it was off the road for nearly 17 years. That is supported by the last NY registration sticker dated July of 1981. As I recall, she mentioned that her father passed away around that time. Also worth mentioning is the unbelievable trunk liner. With the exception of a liquid wax stain (which may be removable, I'll leave it to the next guy), it is nearly perfect. I haven't seen a trunk mat in this condition on a car this old yet. The floor beneath the trunk mat is rust free. Photos available upon request. On Apr-22-13 at 05:32:30 PDT, seller added the following information: I am also including a set of painted fender skirts that go with the car. I had these done years ago, but never mounted them. On Apr-23-13 at 09:45:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Please be advised, I noticed a typo error of the VIN on the title, an extra digit was added at the beginning. If you bid and win, there may be a slight delay getting the title fixed.
