Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1972 R75/5 swb, short wheel base project. What I know it needs is a right cylinder and maybe a piston. I pulled the heads on both sided to see what was causing the seizure. The left cylinder and piston look normal with minimal wear. You can see from the pictures that the bike is mostly stock. What is not stock are the exhaust silencers (they are Harley Davidson "silencers" is that an oxy-moron? Harley SILENCERS? I crack me up), the left hand switch gear that is some undetermined Japanese bike switch and the seat cover/stuffing. I think everything else is stock. What I know that is missing are the air intake tubes to the Bing carburetors. If you are looking for a good starting point for a ground up restoration, a cheap fixer or something to get on the road and "restore as you ride" this should do it. These are hard to come by sometimes, I know I spent some time looking for a /5 and when I found this I had to have it. I am only selling it because 2 days later I found the Guzzi I have been looking for and I am turning my attention to that as that is what I wanted to find for my wife for our anniversary. I have a signed (undated) CA title. The bike was last registered in 2001 and should be out of the CA DMV system, so should incur no back fees. As for other states, the CA title should be enough. For shipping the buyer will be responsible. I will be in Huntington Beach the first week of June and I could be persuaded(case of Lagunitas IPA) to bring it with me. I can also bring it to SF or Sac area for fuel cost. I may even be going to Portland OR during the summer and, again, I could be persuaded(see above) to bring the bike with me there. IF you use the "buy it now" feature, I will terminate all the other auctions that I have with /5 parts (see my other auctions) and they will go with the bike, as long as the auctions are still active and have more than 12 hours left. If you choose this, you should probably contact me first. I do have the bike for sale locally, so it may sell and it may also pull all the other /5 auctions. If you have any questions you can email me for my phone number, of send me yours and a time to call you. On Apr-17-13 at 15:04:35 PDT, seller added the following information: The buy it now time with the offer of the other parts has passed. As such, I have lowered the "BIN" price appropriately. Thanks for looking.
