Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE I am selling this car for my sister who bought it from me and is now moving to Texas. She has a Ford pick-up and as I understand it, the only vehicle allowed in Texas is a Ford pick-up. Go figure. So she's selling the car. I purchased the car new from a dealer in Detriot as my company car and sold it to her 2 years ago. I now drive a M-B E350 4matic so I won't be buying it back from her. Since everyone wants to know what her reserve is, it's the starting bid! Which is very low for this quality of car, so there is NO RESERVE. Her lowest price she'll take for the car is the starting bid. So don't ask what will she take for the car. Having said that, I'm sure some Bozo will still ask, "What's the lowest price she'll take for the car?" I guess there's no cure for stupid. This car has everything and is in immaculate shape. I believe the pictures attest to the quality of this vehicle. All service (documents available) was performed at BMW dealearships by certified BMW mechanics. No Jiffy Lube guys touched this car and all oil changes done with only BMW recommended synthetic oil and a mandatory new filter change. My sister & I averaged 25 mpg, even with spirited driving. The engine is smooth as silk and the extra power of the 3.0 liter engine over the cheapo 2.5 liter engine is worth every penny. Lots of torque and runs effortlessly at highway speeds. The Sport package has lots of goodies like bigger disk brakes, larger sway bars, larger & wider tires, better spring rates and gas shocks. It has 17" alloy wheels, all season tires, leather steering wheel and the best sport seats I've ever sat in. Great side and thigh bolsters that really keep you in place. Super comfortable. It is a 6 spd. manual (not a stick - a stick is what you beat a dog with) that shifts as crisply and positively as any tranny I've ever driven. I owned a Miata (excellent tranny) and a Masda RX7 twin turbo (another great tranny) and this BMW stands toe to toe with both of them and handles almost as well. In bad weather, this car is absolutely what you want. The AWD (all the cars I now own have AWD) in this car convined me that AWD is the only way to go. This car has absolutely no rattles, clunks or shakes. It's tight and nimble as a cat. However, if you are not an automobile enthusiast, you probably will not like this car. It requires that you ACTUALLY drive the car and all the enjoyment that this brings. If you want to eat, drink, read the newspaper, do your make-up or otherwise not be involved when driving this car, go get an automatic shit-box so you don't have to pay attention because you're gonna wreck this beautiful machine. This car drives and handles better than any sport sedan I've ever owned. Luckily, since my sister bought it (and she is as anal as the day is long) the car is immaculate inside and out. There is one dent in at the rear wheel opening (see attached picture) due to some A-hole ramming a shoping cart into it and not leaving a note. The car also has: keyless remote entry, dual-power/heated exterior mirrors, automatic climate control w/ separate left & right temp settings, 8-way power front seats, premium sound - AM/FM stereo, CD/MP3 player w/ Logic 7 audio digital sound processing and surround sound simulation, & power moon roof. And, of course, all the high end quality BMW standard features. We still have the window sticker, but it's a little faded. Sticker price was $42,758.00 You would pay well over $15,000 from a dealer for this car so if the car sells only for the initial bid price, the winner of this auction should be very satisfied. Retail price for this car is slightly north of $16K. You will NOT be disappointed and I know that you won't find a better BMW of this vintage on any dealer's lot in this condition. It looks and drives like a new car, except for the wheel-well ding. No rust, leather tears, stains, french fries under the seat, no drips, no smoke, no nothing. You will easily get another 100K miles out of this baby if you properly take car of it like we did. Now for the legal stuff. The car is sold as-is, where-is, without warranty except for the rust warranty still in force by BMW. If you've ever wanted a high end, luxury sport sedan for a great price and in excellent condition, this is the one for you. Good luck bidding.
