Vehicle Detail

Hello fellow eBayers, you are viewing my 1972 BMW 3.0 CS project. I have been pulling this car in and out of garages and moving it from place to place for too long now and have accepted that this will not be a car I can get too. (I was doing this car when my 64 XKE comes out of the paint/body shop, that has been in 5 years now!) I will describe the vehicle below to the best of my ability. The Body- As you can see the car is covered in rust. This is bad, obviously but the good part of this is that it is still original paint. What you see is what you get! Most of the visible rust is surface rust other than a few rot holes. The most notable being a few holes as photographed around the sunroof. I thought this was odd but the steel is relatively flat and should be an easy enough repair. The doors open and close and amazingly enough sound excellent and fit well. Too me this means the car is "solid" and not fatiguing structurally. The floors will need to be replaced as they have holes and are overall weak. The frame rails look good and solid as do all the shock towers. The tailight panel and spare tire well will also need welding or replacement. The Interior- The car has a beautiful color combination with the red/burgundy and black interior. Depending on what you want to do with the car a lot of the interior could be cleaned up for a driver condition car or it will need replacement. I myself like original worn out things more than refinished! The Engine and Transmission- I have never driven this car (as it is not running) The previous owner told me it came of the road because the exhaust system rotted and became loud. Everything else was working fine. This is a typical sad cool old car story. I was given a complete good used exhaust and header with the car that the previous owner "never got around to installing". I was able to run the car by spraying good fuel into the Carburetors so I know the engine is good. The Wheels and tires- The car has all four original BMW mags and I also have a set of 850ci factory BBS wheels that look great on the car that I will throw in for an extra $500. I Hope this goes to someone that intends to restore it as the cars are getting scarce. I wish the bidders good luck!
