Vehicle Detail
I am selling this 1970 Corvette Coupe that I purchased to restore back to its original color (Laguna Gray - Paint Code 992) and original interior (Vinyl - Trim Code 400). The car was repainted silver and the seats have been redone in leather. The car is in need of repainting (bodywork and paint preparation begun) and complete restoration of the interior. In order to prepare for disassembly and restoration, I wanted any mechanical issues resolved so there would be no problems during reassembly. All vacuum-related items are working properly - actuators, hoses and valves were replaced. The drivetrain is in good condition - the car runs well. The engine is 350 ci / 350 HP - the block is a non-stamped replacement. The original heads were rebuilt and the carburetor was just replaced. It has a 4-Speed Trans., Power Steering, Power Windows, and Factory A/C (the A/C will need to be replaced or rebuilt). The rear and side glass are original with the Astro Ventilation logo. The front bumper and extensions need replacement; the rear bumpers are serviceable but need replating. The previous owner (who I know and who also bought the car to restore but needed cash for another project) installed a new exhaust system, new tires, many suspension parts and a new rear leaf spring. He also purchased many OEM replacement parts (such as exhaust trim and tips, molding, trim parts, etc. - see picture) which are included with the car. The original AM/FM radio was rebuilt and works, the clock does not work. The speedometer cable and the fan switch need to be replaced. Regarding the underside and frame, there is light surface rust where the undercoat has worn away but the frame is solid - typical of a 43 year old car that has not been restored. The car now runs and drives well, but it is really in need of restoration to original specs, especially considering the rare, one year only Laguna Gray color.
