Vehicle Detail
This was a drug dealers car that was ordered forfeited by the court. I am a police officer, not a mechanic so I will try to list everything I can tell tell you about it. First of all, it has sat in our impound lot for about 6 to 8 months. It was not driven during that period of time but was turned on periodically. It is currently leaking anti-freeze from behind the firewall. Again, I am not a mechanic, but it appears to be a water pump or heating core issue. It might be a hose but if it is, it is not coming from the radiator area. There is no smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe so I do not believe anything is compromised within the engine itself. I just replaced the battery so it is literally brand new and other than leaking anti-freeze, runs very smooth. That's about all I can tell you about the engine. The exterior has some dings and dents which are in the pictures above. The passenger side wing window is also broken but other than that, everything seems pretty clean. All the exterior lights work, as well as, all the interior electrical components. With that being said, there are some issues with the interior. In the center console near the gear shift, there is a sliding door that looked like it contained a cup holder. The cup holder is missing allowing you to see the wiring attaching the gear shift. Although it works, something is up with the power mirror switch on the driver side door. It works but appears tilted at an angle. Not too sure what is wrong with it. The car is also missing the driver side sun visor and I do not have it. I do not believe the drug dealer was a smoker or if he was, he did not smoke in the car because it does not smell like cigarette smoke, or any kind of other smoke you might associate with a drug dealer. Because the car is an asset seized item, I am required to follow a specific procedure on selling it. Number 1, I do not personally make any money on the vehicle but did set a reserve bid because I need to recover the costs associated with selling it. In case you are wondering, this vehicle Kelly Blue Book's (fair condition) at $4363. The reserve bid is way lower than that and I will sell this car at whatever the highest bidder determines. Number 2, you have to be willing to come to Roseville Police Department to pick up the car. This is an absolute so please do not bid if you cannot come to get it. When you do such, I will send you with the paperwork to the DMV to register the car. I cannot release the car to you until you have paperwork from the DMV showing you are the legal owner; however, there are two DMV's within 10 miles of the police department so you wont have to go to far to get to an office. You also know how the DMV can be so please be prepared to give me an afternoon or morning to complete the process. Number 3, you need to pay in cash or cashier's check which I will tell you whom to make it out to if you successfully buy the car. I will attempt to answer miscellaneous questions before you ask them. Can I test drive the car or see the car before purchase? Most likely no. Again, I am a police officer with other duty's so I cannot accommodate everyone. You can try to e-mail me but no promises. Are there hidden fees? Not that I'm aware of. I do know that the DMV will make you pay sales tax when you register the vehicle so be prepared for that. Is the car registered? Currently, yes. Do you know the history of the vehicle? No. I know an old lady owned it and let her drug dealing grandson drive it. Form your own conclusions. Can I buy it now? No. The law does not allow me to set a buy it now feature so please don't ask.
