Vehicle Detail
It is time to sell my VW bug project. I will never get to it and I am tired of tripping over it. This is a cool car but quite the project, perfect to finish the way you like it. I got this Bug the way you see it in the photos and have done nothing to it except a few hours of bodywork. The previous owner was in the process of restoring this bug when he had to put it outside to work on a more pressing project, while outside the snow and ice slid off of his shop roof and onto the car. He lost interest and I got it. Working at a museum doing restorations full time means I don't have a lot of time for my own toys. I fixed most of the damage on it but didn't finish the drivers door, it may be easier to replace it but I have saved worse. The bug was freshly painted before the snow slide and you could probably get away with touching it up if you like the color. I have boxes of new and used parts for this car including a new convertible top with new bows and padding. New glass. New Rubber seals. New wiring harness. New trim. I believe the only thing missing is the back of the back seat though I have never done a full inventory of the parts. As it sits this car is assembled from several and the title i got with it is not for it so I am selling it with NO TITLE. The body is a 1960 convertible. The Chassis is a 1973 and the motor is from a 1963 Volkswagen Bus. I was told the motor ran when I got it but I never tried to start it. I believe it still turns but it has been sitting for several years since I have tried to spin it over so I am making no guarantees. This is a no reserve auction, there is over 5000 dollars of parts and paint invested in this car and if you get it for less than it is yours. I need 500 via paypal in the first 48 hours and the rest in cash upon pickup. I will not deliver but I will help with loading, the tires are old and bald but they hold air. I can store the car for a while after purchase but not inside. This bug is located at the Wyman Museum in Craig CO and if you call or email I will be glad to answer any questions or take more photos. On Apr-04-13 at 10:17:46 PDT, seller added the following information:there have been a lot of questions regarding all of the boxes of parts that go along with this car so I put together a list of the more easily recognizable parts, there are more in the boxes that I didn't include because I do not know what they are. Used parts, back seat base, front bumper(in good shape), Right rear fender (spare), original convertible top, Steering column with bent wheel, sway bar, Bumper brackets, 3 exterior door handles, 3 window cranks, 1 interior door handle, 1 ashtray, Rear window used but nice, window frames, front turn lights. New Parts, Top padding, Top Bows, Top, Headliner (light grey), exterior trim, rear vent windows left and right, windshield, door glass (only one and not sure which side), tali lights and mounting chrome and rubber parts, Rubber seals (a whole box full), Wiring harness. I hope this helps
