For sale is our early 1953 Studebaker Champion Starliner Hardtop coupe. We've owned the car for six years and intended to repaint the exterior and detail the engine bay but elected to work on a 53 Commander instead. This car is a driver.... it starts easy, runs well, and stops as it should. The tires are new, all of the gauges, the lights, and the turn-signals work. Today the wiper motor and the horn did not function. When we purchased the car it was missing the parking brake, the front script, and the right side badge.... we purchased these missing pieces and they are shown in the following photos. The previous owner painted the car black (it was the two tone green), upholstered the interior, and rechromed the bright-work. The car is ready for a new paint job, the upholstery is becoming fragile, and the bright-work is fair to good but needs some attention (especially the front bumper). There are no major rust issues but the battery tray and some paint bubbling will need attention. The following photos make the car's paint look better than it really is....don't be fooled....it's ready for paint!
