1973 Triumph Spitfire 1500 Nice complete car, for project or parts. This car was a daily driver a couple of months ago until the engine developed a knocking noise. A preliminary inspection by a British car shop diagnosed it as a bent pushrod. Upon taking the head off 4 days ago though one of the pistons was lightly hitting the head. So this is a bigger project than I have the time or space for, my loss is your gain. I have carefully bagged and tagged every nut and bolt removed for easy reinstallation and repair by the next owner. The car has not been sitting apart for an extended period of time, like I said I finally got a chance to remove and inspect the head on March 22, 2013. The rest of the car is in pretty good condition and has a lot of nice touches. The original wood dash is in excellent condition with the SCCA emblem intact. The interior carpet is in decent condition and was probably redone at some point. It has nice rubber TRIUMPH floor mats. Pioneer stereo/CD player with AUX input for ipod and mp3 players. Polk audio speakers - sounds great. The car has no major rust other than the battery box. There are a couple of tiny rust spots here and there like right by the driver headlight, but nothing major at all. There is no bondo anywhere that I could find and the car has been repainted. Looks very sharp from 15ft but definitely not perfect or anything, some overspray etc... It is also a brighter yellow than the original color. The removable hard top is in good condition but doesn't match the color of the car, as you can see in the pictures. The headliner is decent with a couple of rips. The convertible top is also included and has the complete frame but needs recovering as the old vinyl is pretty shot. The car is currently registered in California through May so there are no back fees or anything, will be very cheap to register. This car is also SMOG exempt being a 1973, so feel free to make it into a hot rod! I have tried to describe this Spitfire as accurately and detailed as possible.
