Vehicle Detail

1948 Willys Jeep. Here is a very nicely set up classic Jeep. It has a smooth running Chevy throttle body fuel injected 305/350 V8 engine, with a five speed Borg-Warner manual gearbox; it also has power steering. The engine starts easily every time, and idles smoothly and sounds nice. The engine setup has its' computer/diagnosis plug-in mounted under the dash. There is a idle/throttle control lever attached to the shifter and there is a sticker on the dash that says Warn "all range" Overdrive. The transmission bolts directly to the transfer case, so I'm assuming that it has a GM transfer case......possibly an older K-5 blazer. A note in the Jeep says it has a AMC 20-456G rear end, (other #s on the note say 41-9 F5G). It has a custom built radiator w/heavy duty aluminum shroud, dual exhausts with long tube headers (surprisingly quiet for such a basic/short exhaust system). The Jeep has Willwood front disc brakes with a manual proportioning/adjustment valve just by the drivers' seat (see pic). The front axles have manual locking hubs, they say Superwinch. The previous owner added an extra fuel tank under the passenger seat as well as the standard gas tank under the driver seat, the gas is pumped over by an electrical fuel pump from a toggle switch in the dash. The Jeep has a Ramsey E10000 winch, a custom made heavy duty front bumper with drop down tow bar. The Jeep comes with six matching aluminum 15" rims with BFGoodrich Krawler T/A 35x13.5 tires on it (tires have some dry cracking from lack of use, ok to 4X4 but probably not good for high speed driving). As you can see this Jeep has a full length heavy duty roll bars/cage, seat belts, large chrome side mirrors, and thick aluminum fender extensions/flares both front and rear....with rubber edges. It also has a heavy duty rear rack that hold two gas cans and supports the spare tire. The Jeep has black California plates, so it's probably been in California for at least the past 45 years. The frame is solid, there are two rust spots in about the same area on both sides of the car (one is the bracket supporting the rear of the front fender, and the other side has a small patch/split...see pic), both issues would not stop anyone from using and enjoying the Jeep. The paint is old, and looks to have been done at home and is very basic. This Jeep was a donated vehicle, so all the information I was able to gather was from what I was able see and/or figure out on the Jeep. A lot of work has been put into this car by the previous owner, the title shows the car was owned by him since 1973 and his registration cards go back for around the past twenty years. The Jeep does not have any wipers, and I couldn't get the turn signals working, otherwise headlights, spot lights and brake lights work. If you have any questions, other than "what's your reserve" ;-) you are welcome to contact me through ebay or call my cell# 559-801-8623 anytime between 10am-6pm California time. NOTE** due to multiple problems with non-paying zero or excessive -ve feedback ebayers. We will only accept bids from zero or excessive -ve feedback ebayers after they have provided us with valid contact information, otherwise those bids will not be accepted. The car is sold as-is and as equipped. However, you are welcome to come see and/or have the vehicle inspected before the end of the auction. Payment is due in full within seven days of the end of the sale. California buyers and all in state sales are subject to sales tax, doc. & lic. fees. In California, all vehicles over ten years old are sold miles 'exempt', it is assumed that the miles on this vehicle have turned over. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. On Mar-30-13 at 11:08:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I also noticed that this Jeep has a hideaway compartment in the rear floor area that holds two Optima car batteries.
