Vehicle Detail

This car is being re-listed due to the bogus bidder- curtmike8! PLEASE don't bid if you can't buy! To all of the legitimate inquiries and bidders in the first auction last week, THANKS! This car is the real deal- my phone number is in the ad and I have plenty of references- please call me! To all of the talkers, scammers, pushy emailers- DON’T waste your time or mine! This car WILL NOT leave my possession without a wire transfer. I have added a BUY-IT-NOW through Ebay- or just meet my reasonable reserve and wait it out. So, here we go again…. You are bidding on an amazing, documented, numbers matching, Buccaneer Red 1973 Pontiac Trans Am. A true survivor with just 63,700 original miles, this Trans Am has never been hit- all original tin- no rust, and still retains the original interior AND glass. It was professionally repainted and decaled; completed in March 2012. Runs and drives great with plenty of horsepower. The car was ordered by a gentleman as a graduation present for his daughter on November 1, 1972 (what a great dad!) and delivered to Larry Hopkins Pontiac in Sunnyvale, California on December 20, 1972. This car was in sunny California until 1980, and since then has been in the dry high desert of Central Oregon. The original female owner passed away in 2008, and the car was purchased from her estate in late 2010. Included with the car is all documentation including the original Sales Order, all manuals- including a factory Service Manual-, PHS documentation, the original Blue/Gold California plate (with the Hopkins Pontiac dealer plate frame) and the Gold/ Blue Oregon license plates that have been on the car since 1980. Here’s the all important numbers info: Cowl Tag, top row: ST 73 2FS87 N 024167 BDY 2nd row: TR 246 A51 75 75 PNT 3rd row: 12B WS4 Bottom row: 300567 ‘TR 246’ is the interior code of Black vinyl upholstery. ’75 75’ is the code for upper & lower portions of the cars color- Buccaneer Red. ‘12B’ means the car was assembled the second week of December 1972. ‘WS4’ is the all-important Trans Am code. ‘300567’ is the Fisher Body code. ENGINE: Block number 485428, stamped ‘455’ and ‘73’ with a casting date code of ‘K022’ (11/2/1972). Front of block is a ZC code unit number 0228422. VIN stamp below on the block is numbers matching, 23N105626. This is a RPO L-75 California car and is why the somewhat rare ZC coded block was used (see the pontiacpower website). PHS has confirmed this code was used in the 1973 Trans Am’s and this is the original numbers matching block. Both heads are stamped ‘4X’ and have a date code of ‘K022’, cast the same day as the block- 11/2/1972. These are 2.11/1.66 valves. The following are original parts are in boxes, NOT currently on the car: Intake manifold 492744, date code ‘K012’ (11/1/1972). Carburetor 7043262, date code ‘K2’ or November, 1972. Original air cleaner assembly. Original power steering belt- GM part #483133- Dayco WE5-1660. Original alternator bet- GM part # 9433646- Dayco 5-7229. All emissions parts, including the charcoal canister, are in boxes and not on the car. After leaving California, the engine was rebuilt at about 30,000 miles in 1982 for better performance. A mild cam was installed. Receipts for this work will go with the car. The car currently has a Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake manifold with a Carter AFB carb mounted on it. The engine is currently equipped with tuned headers. The original exhaust manifolds are not with the car. A NEW Magnaflow muffler and the original chrome exhaust tips are on the new exhaust system installed in February 2011. A couple of boxes of extra miscellaneous parts are included in this sale. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: Hydramatic Turbo 400 serial number ’73 PR 9395’ and part number 8623801. VIN number 23N105626 is stamped on the left side. Transmission was removed, cleaned, and resealed in February 2011. New u-joints were also installed at this time. This transmission is ORIGINAL. The underside of the car has not been detailed, but there is no rust, and the original red primer is still clearly visible. REAR END: Code GY G3361G, part # 1235542B, date code K182 (November, 18, 1972). This is the ORIGINAL 3.08:1 ratio rear end. Delco swirl shocks part # 3193223, date code 66972 are on the rear of car. 2 of the other Delco shocks, part #3192132 date coded 05 6 72 are in boxes with the car. WHEELS: ORIGINAL 15 x 7 Rally II wheels. Charcoal black, stainless steel trim rings, aluminum center cap with the red Pontiac arrow stamped. All wheels are original code HM. Currently has near new BF Goodrich P235/70R15 radial T/A tires. The spare wheel and jack assembly is in the trunk. INTERIOR: The interior is all original carpet, seats, and headliner. A small split in the drivers side seat cushion, a small silver dollar sized crack in the dash near the drivers post, and some other minor flaws that are to be expected from a 40 year old interior. It is unbelievably immaculate for a 1973 model. All gauges (except clock), lights, and horn are working. The rear window defogger and rear shelf are still working and immaculate. The original AM/FM radio and front speaker is still in the car. Original rear speaker cover is in a box. All glass- including the windshield- is still the original Soft Ray. Original trunk mat is in the trunk. Please feel free to call me at 541-480-0942 with any questions. I have more pictures I can email if you are interested. A very reasonable reserve has been set. WIRE TRANSFER’S or cash only for payment. A copy of the clear title will be faxed to the winner of this auction, and the title will be overnight mailed upon receipt of full payment. PLEASE do not bid on this car unless you intend to purchase. The buyer of this car will own a unique and hard to find survivor!
