Vehicle Detail

I am selling an all original "Survivor" 1976 Ford Maverick 2 door Sport Coupe. This was recently acquired from the second owner who was actually a good friend of the original owner. In fact, this man went with him to the Ford dealership in 1976 when he took delivery of the car new. So the second owner who I got it from has known the car literally since "Day One"! The original owner passed away some years back, and the car was stored away in a barn on his property for more than 10 years when the second owner bought it from the family and got it running. He used the car for 2 years as a fun hobby car and for occasional general transportation, then sold it to me so he could have funds to buy a Jeep. Has always been in the local area, within a 25 mile radius of here. This Maverick is equipped with 250 6 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, power steering, factory air conditioning (still hooked up and working), and am radio. Everything still works. Engine and transmission are strong, car rides and drives well. Has 83,000 actual miles, could easily pass for half of that. Amazingly, this car is TOTALLY ORIGINAL! Has original paint, interior, engine compartment, and trunk compartment. Still has original spare! Of course, normal maintenance things have been done such as tires, brakes, carb rebuild, shocks, tune-up, flush cooling system, new radiator, belts, hoses, etc. Original paint still has a nice shine, and still has original factory painted pin stripes. Original interior is GORGEOUS! No cracks in dash or holes in seats or carpets. Door panels are also very nice. Still has original trunk mat and spare, and is all original in engine bay. .It is very evident that this car has always been kept under cover and not allowed to sit out in the elements when not being used. Here are a couple of minor issues I have noticed: 1. Gas gauge has a mind of its own. Sometimes works, somtimes stays on E. Probably a loose wire, or will need a new sending unit, haven't checked. 2. A/C comes on and compressor is hooked up, but will probably need some additional freon added as warmer weather comes 3. In the center of the bottom of the front seat, there is a seam that has pulled apart a bit and needs to be re-stitched. Material is not torn or missing. Like any used car that is still original, there are some minor dings and scratches. However, this car has not been wrecked, and is not rusted out. Very straight and solid, both body and underneath. This would be a great original car to enter in a "Survivor Class" at car shows, or would be a great basis for a hot rod build. Would be awesome with a V8 or done as a "Grabber" Tribute. It is very hard to find these little Maverick 2 door cars in untouched original condition that have not been beat up or rusted. Don't miss this one! Please call me at 704-661-1326 (leave message if not in) with any questions. Thanks very much! ABOUT ME: I am a long time (35 years) hobbyist and collector of nice original "Survivor" cars. I have been in the same locoation for over 25 years and collect, trade, and fool with nice original cars from the late 1950s to mid 1980s. I keep a "rotating collection" of 6 to 8 such cars. When new arrivals appear, I will sell some to make room. This is the case here. Please check my other 2 listings for 2 other "Survivor" cars! NO RESERVE! NO RESERVE! NO RESERVE! Now for the rules: 1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! No retractions will be allowed, so be sure BEFORE you bid! 2. A NON-REFUNDABLE $1000 partial payment is due within 48 hours of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer or cashiers check. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. 3. Balance is due within 7 days of auction's close. This can be by bank wire transfer, cashiers check or cash in person. If you are paying balance upon pickup of car, it must be cash in person. 4. Vehicle and papers will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. If you are paying with ANY kind of check, it must clear MY bank before boat or ownership will be released. No exceptions! 5. Vehicle is sold strictly as-is at my premisies with no guarantee or warranty of any kind. 6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it still YOUR responsibility. 7. If you cannot pick up car immediately, that is fine, it can be left here for a reasonable period. However, it still must be paid for within the 7 days, and you should secure insurance as I cannot be responsible for loss or damage due to circumstances beyond my control or act of God. 8. Please ask and get satisfactory answers to all questions BEFORE YOU BID! Since sold strictly as/is, no warranty or returns, once you bid, you have made a binding contract. 9. Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call me at 704-661-1326 with any further questions about this. 10. If you have been an Ebay member for less than a year and/or have less than 10 feedbacks, and/or have less than a 95% rating, you MUST contact me BEFORE you bid. Failure to do this may result in my cancelling your bid and blocking you from bidding on my items. I understand that new members can be great customers, but I must talk to you first. Thanks a lot. 11. A $95.00 administrative fee will be added to the bid price. This helps pay for advertisng, paperwork, and sale fees incurred by me. It does not cover all my expenses, but helps defray some of them. Thanks for your understanding. I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call 704-661-1326 with any questions. Leave message if no answer. Thanks for looking!
