Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1990 Honda CRX HF. This is your chance to own a modern automotive marvel. This car has the original 1.5L SOHC engine and transmission so that you can enjoy the most non-hybrid gas mileage available in a car, unmatched by any rival. I usually average 52-54mpg when driving my normal work commute. The lowest I’ve ever seen was 46mpg with all city driving. There are a couple dents/scratches, but nothing surprising given the age of the car. This particular make of CRX has additional side impact door beams for added safety and, being a second generation, has fuel injection for easier start-ups. The good – It has aftermarket seats and Civic SI 14” wheels that look much nicer than the steel OE wheels. This car has 222k miles on it, which I hear is just getting broken in for these cars. I have now owned it for 3 trouble-free years and around 20k, money-saving miles. This car can save you a lot of money with the incredibly high gas mileage, cheap taxes, cheap insurance, and cheap repair costs. Of all the stick-shift cars I have driven, this one has the best feeling transmission that seamlessly clicks into gear without guessing. The headliner is in great shape and doesn’t sag at all The seats have been replaced with comfortable and fully adjustable (pricey) Tenzo R’s. Also, the following service has been performed since I have owned it: Clutch (supposedly replaced just before I bought it in 2009, but I don’t have the details) Spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, air filter: January 2010 All 4 Shocks: January 2010 Alternator: January 2010 Master cylinder January 2010 Both CV Axles and transmission output seals, tie rod ends, and ball joints: January 2011 Fuel filter: April 2012 Timing belt/water pump/coolant: July 2012 Belts/hoses: July 2012 O2 sensor: July 2012 The bad – it smokes for the first few seconds on start-up, but my mechanic has assured me it is fine. I removed the muffler since a hole rusted in it, but it isn’t loud without one, so I left it off and opted for losing the 30lbs. The air-conditioning doesn’t work, but the good thing is that all the components are there so it just needs someone to take a look at it to diagnose the problem. I haven’t troubled myself with it since the windows work fine. So why sell such an awesome car? I’ve now been married almost three years and a two-seater won’t be very helpful for us.
