Economic hardship forces the sales of this amazing 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe finished in beautiful Black on Black. I purchased the car in December 2011 from a dealer in Tysons Corner Virginia. Previously, the car had been registered in Maine and then Virginia where it was traded. Current mileage is unknown. The dealer said it had 159,000 miles, per the odometer, which I realized wasn't working moments after driving off the lot. The car ran well over the next six or so months and I put approximately 10,000 miles on it before losing a connecting rod and cylinders 4, 5, and 6.After serious consideration, I decided to spend the money, bring the car back to life, and keep her. I worked with the guys at ROCS in Belleville, NJ, and they did an absolutely amazing job. In short, they installed a replacement 3.2 long-block with 87K miles, added a WEVO 915 shifter, replaced struts, shocks and sway bars front and rear, replaced brake hoses, rotors, and pads front and rear, and four new tires. They really went through the entire car and fixed or replaced everything it needed. I've attached the invoices from ROCS showing the work that was done and the parts that were used. They did it right and the result is an amazingly strong and reliable 911. The re-build was completed December 2012. I've driven the car approximately 5,000 miles since and couldn't be happier. The car is very strong. Mechanically it's solid. And it performs surprisingly well. A pure joy to drive. The car’s interior is in good condition, exhibiting only negligible wear for its age. The leather seats show only minimal wear (no tears), The carpets, interior panels and headliner are in fair condition. The dash is free of any cracks or warping. The power drivers seat, windows, locks, gauges, stereo and heater all work as they should. The air conditioner was removed as it should be.The car's exterior has some minor cosmetic issues. In addition to minor imperfections (rock chips, scratches, etc.) consistent with the cars age, the exterior has a dent below the right front fender, and some damage to the bumper, hood, and the right fog light. The damage is cosmetic only (see photos). There are no related mechanical problems.This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a strong 1985 911 Carrera Coupe. With strong mechanicals, and values on the rise for 911s of this era, this car deserves serious consideration.
