1997 Dodge Ram 2500 Club Cab SLT 4x4 Long Bed 2-Owner Truck, Hard to Find 12 Valve, Runs out Great, Recent Ball Joints, Nice Interior, Never 5th Wheel'd, 20+MPG?, Rare Pickup! year 1997 drive train 4x4 make Dodge ext color Black model Ram 2500 int color Grey sub model SLT Long Box Club Cab 4x4 vin 3B7KF23D3VG800067 engine 5.9 Liter 12 Valve Cummins Turbo Diesel 6-Cylinder mileage 199188 transmission Automatic OD stock # AC12193 about This is a good solid hard to find 12 valve long bed club cab 4x4. The truck has a 2-owner history and it has not seen heavy road salt. It looks presentable, runs out very well and has been properly maintained. It has not had a hitch in the bed, vehicle is well equipped, essentially everything works, and for a truck this big, it will get outstanding fuel economy. These trucks are getting harder and harder to find and this is a very decent example, especially for the money. exterior The paint and body on this truck looks about like it should for a 16 year old 200k black Dodge. It's not new or perfect, but it's not terrible. The windshield is fine, wheels look good, bed inside looks great and hasn't had a hitch, and the bumpers are straight. Almost every Dodge of this vintage I've had, had a tweaked front bumper, and this one actually lines up. The truck has been waxed and looks ok. The clear coat on the hood, and roof are well done, and you can see a good deal of fading on the passenger front fender up along the door edge, from parking the truck in the sun the same way every day. The tires are Michelins, a little sun checked, not new tread, but fine to drive on. I wouldn't pull a 20klb trailer with them. The body is straight with no damage except for a rust spot on the lower drivers door. The vehicle has not been exposed to a lot of road salt. It's just a common problem on these with water getting down in the door and rusting. It's the only spot on the truck. You can see the undercarriage which looks good, and the passenger under-door seam, shown in the photos. We can have the rust spots cut out, welded up, and the paint refinished, but the whole truck could probably be shot at that time. The history report shows a parking mishap on the left rear at some time 10 years ago, but the undercarriage shows no signs of any damage from that, was probably something superficial. The pictures show the truck well, have a look. interior The interior is fine as well. It doesn't reek of smoke. The upholstery is original, never recovered. It has one hemmed seam on the drivers rear bolster. We can replace those 2 panels for $90 if need be. The carpet is fair, little staining on the drivers side. The dash is free of cracks, electronics all work, nice cold air, and aftermarket stereo. The steering wheel could use a cover, top is worn, and the cup holder is busted up. mechanical This pickup runs very well and should. 199k is not bad at all for one of these. I've had a few personal Dodge 5.9s and even have a little 4-cylinder Cummins in my Jeep. The mechanically injected Cummins motors just don't ever break. The motor fires easy even when cold and it idles smooth. If you stuff it in reverse and stomp on it when dead cold, it will quit. This is common, and not a problem, and no, the injector pump doesn't feel tired. It doesn't sputter when you rev it and it doesn't cut out other than what I mentioned above. The undercarriage looks good, came in a little crusty so we cleaned it and drove the truck a while to check for leaks, doesn't seem to be leaking noticeably from anywhere. It has new ball joints and drives easy, not all over the road. We changed the oil, filter, fuel filter, and the rear wheel speed sensor which was bad. The tranny shifts easy and fluid is nice'n'red. The 4x4 works fine, truck hasn't been turned up or tuned on, doesn't have excessive blow by or smoke badly. You should expect to drive this truck for many years, it will probably out last your need or at least your want for it. Fly in and drive home anywhere. comments This is a neat truck and a great find. Masters reserves the right to sell the vehicle at any time before a deposit has been left on the vehicle, even when the reserve has been met. Masters also reserves the right to end the auction early. We sell many of our vehicles before the end of the auction. Feel free to call with any questions. It is our experience and our volume that allows us to sell vehicles at lower prices than most businesses on EBay or off, but please know that the phrase "You get what you pay for." is constant in both the real world and the car business. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" unless otherwise specified. Local residents of Colorado must pay taxes at our dealership, but will not have to pay them again when going to register the vehicle. There is a $199 transfer and handling fee for local residents only. It costs us more money to sell vehicles locally and this fee is non-negotiable. Out of state buyers are charged no extra fees at all, what you bid is what you pay. Again, all vehicles are for sale locally, and before the end of the auction. Just because you are the high bidder doesn't mean you have the vehicle reserved. EBay allows us the option of ending auctions early because all vehicle are for sale at any point during the auction. If you are concerned, the buy it now option is always a good idea. In very rare instances, (once or twice in over a thousand transactions), the vehicle is being sold locally while someone has pressed the buy it now. You're welcome to call before you bid, we thank you, Happy EBaying! Masters Collection 10672 S.
