Vehicle Detail
1968 European spec GTV. Older restoration in Giallo Ochre (butterscotch)The car has been sitting for 7 years due to a failed head gasket. The engine and transmission are out of the car and the engine is dis-assembled.The engine is missing pistons and liners. There is some electrolysis damage on the underside of the head, but the fire ring area is solid and should be usable.Transmission was rebuilt 20-25k before the engine died. The body is solid with rust behind the front wings directly behind the front wheels, but the rest of the car is solid. The rocker panels were replaced at the time of the restoration and are not correct. Instead of being "rounded" they are "flat". I am not quite sure why this was done, but it is what it is. If you would choose to respray the car, the correct rocker panels could be welded in to place with no other major surgery. This car sat outside under a cover one year prior to my ownership and had some water enter the cabin. It has been in dry storage under my ownership. The carpets need to be cleaned or replaced, the headliner needs to be replaced. It has Flofit seats in grey, no knowledge of where the original seats have gone. The steering wheel is split and will need to be replaced. The gauges are in Italian. The speedometer is metric. It runs on Benzina, not gasoline. All of the glass is good, there is no rear screen defroster. Hydraulics are in need of a rebuild or replacement. The brake and clutch master cylinders are floor mounted. It comes with Quadrifoglio wheels and the tires will need to be replaced due to age. Front brakes and hubs have been updated to the later styleTo it's credit, the springs are Ward and Deane, the shocks are Koni, it has the 4-2-1 cast Euro exhaust manifold Shankle 7L camshafts and above average stainless trim. This car was built and maintained as a daily driver for a gentleman who drove it everywhere he went. Mileage on the chassis is unknown, but before it's retirement due to the previous owners health, it was very well maintained. This will require work. it will not "start and run". It is a project of mine for which I have lost enthusiasm and am looking to pass it on to someone who will finish and enjoy the car. I have no title but will gladly provide a BILL OF SALE for the car. The former owner is in very bad health and it could not be located. PLEASE BEFORE BIDDING!!! Consult with wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/butcher down the street/baker....ect! This is a project! No you cannot drive it home. On Mar-08-13 at 12:34:57 PST, seller added the following information: I have added additional photos of the car.
