Made in the UK 1998 Jaguar XJ8 with 90,341 original miles. Vehicle has been running fine up until last week, that's when the transmission started slipping, that's when the transmission fault code and engine light came on. Overall, very good physical condition for it's age (just a few minor dings, but no rust present). I took it to a local auto repair shop and was hoping the transmission fluid could be changed, however, when the auto repair shop put it on their machine, 3 gear fault codes were identified (I do not know which ones). The auto repair shop said more than likely it needs another transmission, but I have not had anyone else check out the vehicle since so I can't confirm exactly what needs to be done. I was able to drive the car home with the transmission fault present, but parked the car and haven't driven it since. I've owned the vehicle since 43,020 miles, so I haven't put a lot of miles on it in 9 years. This is the first time I've had transmission issues, and I've never had the transmission serviced. Unfortunately, I'm unable to get the car repaired, and I just don't want it to sit around. This is a nice looking car, and I've always gotten positive comments about the look and condition. Note: On 03/04/13, drove to car to Autozone to have the alternator and battery checked. Both checked out okay. I was told the battery charge was a bit low, but obviously not low enough to prevent the car from starting as normal. The transmission was still slipping, and the transmission fault engaged after accelerating. Included are OEM upgraded Jaguar Penta (XJR style) rims and Pirelli PZero tires which 3 are in good condition (left front tire is wearing on the inside, so will eventually need to be replaced). Rims, lug nuts (Penta style), caps, and tires cost $3,600.00 alone. Has tinted windows and upgraded upper/lower mesh grille inserts. Heat, air conditioning, front/rear heated seats, radio, CD player, and garage door opener works. Full spare tire (original rim with lug nuts, but the rim is not the Penta style) and two sets of remote keys included. New water pump, coolant hoses, belt, and newer style aluminum thermostat housing installed 3 - 4 years ago. Car is sold as is; no warranties are guarantees implied regarding the transmission or anything else. Some people have asked if the timing chain tensioners have been replaced; no they have not. I am not interested in selling parts off the car. I am selling the entire car as shown in the pics. Here are the known issues I can think of at the moment (I will update accordingly as I remember anything additional): 1. Antenna is broken, so it needs to be replaced. 2. Memory setting does not save position settings for driver's seat.3. Rear view mirror is loose (Not sure how to fix this).4. Headliner upholstery above rear seats is sagging. 5. Undertray currently not attached, but I have it. Some of the connectors are broken underneath the car, and I didn't want to loose the tray so I took it off. Additional pics available upon request. Pickup: The car must be picked up locally. Under no circumstances will I be able to make any type of arrangements other than local pickup. Since the car is experiencing transmission issues, I strongly suggest it be towed as opposed to driven unless you are close by. Payment: Deposit of $500.00 due within 24 hours from when auction ends.
