POSITRACTION REAR ORIGINAL BLACK AND GOLD (19U/19L PAINT CODE ON TRIM TAG) CAMEL COLOR CLOTH INTERIOR SNOWFLAKE WHEELS(W/MATCHING SPARE) SMOKEY & THE BANDIT AMERICAN CLASSIC ZIEBART PROTECTED WHEN NEW I will break down each area of the vehicle to best describe it to the best of my ability: ENGINE: Numbers matching 305 4bbl Chevrolet V-8(I checked pad on engine and it agrees with VIN #.) Paint on engine was original, I touched it up a few months ago with GM blue engine paint, although the oringinal paint did have a more green/ blue green color. Pump gas pedal 2x's, turn the key and it fires right up with no smoke or noise...goes on fast idle, knock it down and car idles as it should....smoothly! Drives excellent!!No OIL LEAKS...that will leave a spot in the garage...car has been sitting in same spot since OCT 2012 and not a drop on garage floor. Looks to be mostly untouched....only things that have been replaced in the past 3-4yrs...radiator/radiator hoses/battery/alternator. Original smog pump was removed over the years and the tubes were blocked off. TRANSMISSION: 4 speed RARE Original transmission, shifts smooth, clutch works as it should, slight growl at idle from possible throw out bearing.....sound changes if you depress the clutch. There is a HURST shifter installed and it's appears to have been there for a long time. REAR END: Positraction drum brake rear, small growth around cover gasket but leaves no drip....cover appears to be painted gold....why I don't know??? PAINT/BODY: Driver quality mostly original paint, "L" on trim tag for LAQUER paint. THE PAINT / BODY ON THIS CAR IS VERY PRESENTABLE LOOKS WONDERFUL FROM 10FT AWAY. I get many compliments at cruise nights and whenever I drive it or take it out! But it is NOT show quaility although...this car looks better than most I see at the local cruise nights and car shows around this area of CT. It appears wheel flares have been painted over the years from being road sandblasted as it was driven, the flares are all intact just paint faded and flaking off. Small paint "checking" (if you get up really close and inspect it) mostly noticable on quarters, roof, & trunk lid but there is some on doors, and hood where the car was exposed to direct beating sunlight .....making me think, most of the paint is original!!! I measures all the painted surfaces with a paint gauge and the number is consistant throughout the entire vehicle. Look at the pictures the paint is very good, I'm just being very picky. NOTE** LITTLE WHITE MARKS ON PAINT IN SOME PICTURES IS SNOW....IT WAS SNOWING OUT WHEN I TOOK THE PICTURES UNDERCARRAGE: SUPER CLEAN AND AMAZINGLY ROT/RUST FREE UNLIKE MOST TRANS AM's. Rear body panel near gas tank is SPOTLESS!! I was told by a TRANS AM expert that you can tell the condition of a Trans Am by looking at the panel underneath the car by the gas tank and rear bumper....if it's rotted so is the rest of the car...WELL THIS ONE IS UNTOUCHED AND MINT!!! I have never seen a car this clean / this original for this age...especially a F-body!! Leaf spring perches..SPOTLESS!!(most cars have come through the floor...NOT THIS ONE) Floors...MINT!! Frame Rails...EXCELLENT!! Gas tank area (where all T/A's rust out) is super clean/solid!! Rear wheel well houses are also Original / Clean / and RUST FREE!! Trunk floor has a little surface rust from a little water that leaked in to trunk...it can be cleaned up with a wire brush....I just left it to be ALL HONEST and ORIGINAL...IT IS NOT THROUGH BY ALL MEANS! Very super solid! DENTS / DINGS / IMPERFECTIONS : L/R quarter has a series of dings just over the body line near the side marker light(see pic) L/S door has a 2 dings also......I'm being picky and this car is BLACK...it shows ever flaw....but nothing looks better than BLACK!! Rear trunk spolier has a small slight crack in the center...very repairble and I'm being picky here. R/F fender had a body filler repair on the bottom and the paint was blended up to the TRANS AM decal....you can see/ feel a paint line if you get down and your knees/stomach to see it. Also inside the hood where the fender bolts on there is a slit of rust starting where it meets the wheelwell housing....very small thin line. The panel is the worst on this entire car....IT IS NOT BAD AT ALL!!!! R/F door has a very small small spot of rust on the very bottom near the weatherstrip....again very repairable with low cost and no effort.....and I'm being very picky!! L/F door is fine. Bumpers fine no tears. Hood decal is faded appears to be the Nascar / Pace car ?? bird and judging by the fading...it most be original....but I can't say for sure....I'm not the original owner. INTERIOR: The interior has some items that have been plated GOLD and there is a "BANDIT EDITION" plaque onthe dash. I am NOT selling this car as an original BANDIT CAR! I have no documentaton to prove this is a real Bandit! This badging was on the car when I got it. I believe this car is a dealer Bandit conversion with the SE striping and GOLD appliques. The striping / decals are old and faded so this ...if a "Dealer" Bandit Car was done a long time ago. The interior needs work. The headliner is falling down in spots. The seats are original, faded, and ripped in some spots (there are slip covers on the front for now. The carpet is sun faded. The package shelf is sunfaded and beat as well. The console is very good....small crack on bottom near floor. The door panels are fine but the carpeting on the door panels are curling due to age. The dash has small cracks and was repaired but it is not a quality job. The interior needs to be redone.....kits are about 800$ The dash clock works as well as the tach and speedometer, fuel gauge and volt gauge. The water temp and oil pressure gauges are pegged. The car does have good oil pressure and does NOT overheat! Vehicle is equpped with a rear defroster and aftermarket cassette radio. BRAKES / EXHAUST: Brakes have been changed and are up to date and safe. Exhaust is new from the CAT back with a stock replacement system complete with NEW factory style chrome tips. TIRES / WHEELS: Tires are like new as far as tread depth goes but are getting dry rotted due to this vehicle is not driven daily . Wheels are very nice with no curb rash. The gold on the wheels have been repainted and look good. I have the original spare tire and jack but will be including a matching Gold snowflake as well in this auction. T-TOPS: I have the original BODY by FISHER T-TOPS bags that goe with the car. I have described this car to the best of my knowledge and was very very honest in my description. This car is a SUPER SOLID mostly ORIGINAL DESIREABLE TRANS AM!! It is being sold as a driver type vehicle not as an all out show car. The reserve is very low and you can't have body work done for the price of this car. It is an ORIGINAL BLACK AND GOLD 4 SPD TRANS AM!! Ths car can be an all out show car with litle work and money invested. 1000$ NON REFUNDABLE PAYPAL Deposit due within 24hrs of auctions end.
