Vehicle Detail
Here I have for your consideration my 1961 Chevrolet Apache 10 panel delivery truck of 30+ years. I am the second owner. He has always been a California truck. Originally bought from 'Sopp and Son' CHEVROLET in Huntington Pk CA in Sept of '60. He was 1 of 3 'special order' trucks bought by a neon light service company originally. LeRoy (he's a sixtyone) has been a work truck his entire life. I am now partially retired due to unexpected eye injury and no longer need a truck. Plus it's time for someone else to enjoy him as much as I have. He has been maintained and I have service records for at least the last 10 yrs. He has a '75 250ci 6 cyl and a 4 speed granny/rock crusher tranny. I replaced the original 'split rims' with '64 1 pc GM rims long ago. The tires are 235R75x15 General truck tires and have 80%+ tread left. He has '64 BelAir dog dish hub caps and unknown trim rings. He also has his 'BLACK' plates that are current till Jan '14 (only $100 in CA). In California this truck does not have to get yearly smog checks! In the spring of '08, the rusted door and fender corners were cut out and replaced with new metal. At this same time the roof vent, that had been installed by the first owner was also replaced with new metal. It was then painted with HOT ROD FLATZ burgundy pearl single stage poly paint. At the same time I replaced all the weatherstripping including vent windows. Most were USA made 'PRECISION Products' parts. His interior has the original paint everywhere except the doors. Original am radio is included. This truck came with a single bucket seat when new. He now has a 70's Suburban middle seat as a front seat. A '60-'66 pickup bench seat with tracks that needs upholstery is included. I have replaced the economy heater with a deluxe (in the engine compartment) unit complete with dash controls, blower and core. All knobs are OEM 'Custom Cab' chrome and black. Speedo was rebuilt and NOS OEM odometer was installed and reset at zero. Idiot lights both work. This year the tranny was professionally torn down. New bearings and seals were installed. Clutch, front brakes and brake lines, front wheel bearings and seals were done within the last year. The 250 ci engine was installed prior to my ownership and has only been rebuilt once. It was completely rebuilt in'06 If you need more pictures' please let me know If you have unanswered questions or wish to come see him in person, feel free to contact Chuck @ 562.432.1646 I encourage either you or your agent to come see him prior to bidding. I am in Long Beach CA, about 25 miles south of LA. I expect a $500 deposit via PayPal within 24hrs of Auction end. If I don't hear from you within 24 hrs, your sale will be cancelled and the truck will be offered to the next highest bidder. I've lost my patience to do the 'dance'! You must pick him up and pay remainder via cash within 7 days unless other arrangements are made prior to auction end
