I have a 1981 CBX that only has 19 miles, yea that's right 19.9 to be exact. It had 15.2 when I bought it over 2 years ago. This bike had never been registered and was'nt even titled. It had pieces of the paper dealer tag under the license plate bolts. I have a clear Texas bonded title in my name. The carbs were shot from sitiing with gas in them for 29 years. Luckily found a set on ebay that were taken off an 81 that was 1 week old with 0 miles according to the seller. Disassembled carbs for cleaning and found absolutely no traces of fuel and corossion,these carbs were 29 years old and brand new. Installed on bike and engine fired right up. Fuel tank of course had some rust inside ,it was cleaned . New gas cap was installed because someone had damaged the lock trying to remove it. The bike has the original tires on it with a new set of Bridgestone Spitfires waiting to be installed. Spark plugs are orignal as far as I know,just cleaned and reinstalled. Everthing on this bike is original except for carbs and gas cap. Paint is excellant for a 31 year old bike,still shiny with a few minor scratches. Chrome is the same with minor corrosion.The bottom line is you won't find another CBX like this one. Serious inquiries only please .
