Vehicle Detail

1954 Ford F-100 Stake Bed Truck Ford’s first completely new post-WW2 pick-up was the F-1 of 1948 that featured modern, up-to-the-minute styling and a cab rubber-mounted to the separate chassis. Its replacement for 1953 was the F-100, a half-ton model that would remain a fixture of Ford's commercial line-up, albeit periodically restyled and updated, for the next few decades. Sleeker and more modern than its predecessor, the F-100 was available in numerous different configurations and with a choice of inline 'six' or V8 engines. The truck offered is a fantastic completely rust-free example of the second year F-100, a 1954, which was the first year for the more powerful 239ci overhead valve V8, also known as the Y-Block. The original V8 has great power and is in fine tune, fresh from full service. The 3-on-the-tree manual column shift transmission shifts easily with a good clutch. Brakes, suspension and steering work as they should, as does all electrical. The wooden stake bed has been recently refinished. This is a fantastic driving truck, which draws a crowd wherever it goes. Stunning cool factor in a practical package!
