Vehicle Detail

For auction is a 1972 MG MGB. This car runs and drives. The engine runs strong, idles nice, and starts right away. A compression test showed each cylinder to be around 140psi. Good oil pressure. The carbs have been cleaned, worn pieces and seals replaced. The transmission works good. Smooth shifting, no lash, all syncros work well, revers work well. The electrical systems and components seem to bee in decent working order. There is an aftermarket turn signal switch. All tires hold air, all of them are quite ancient. The brakes work, although I would recommend some additional attention if the car is to bee driven regularly. The oil pressure hose leaks oil when engine is running and should be replaced. A new one cost $14 from Moss. There are no other noticeable oil leaks. The radiator has a small leak and requires attention, seem like it is repairable. I have put about 100 miles on the car in the last two weeks and had no pressing issues. The car also has a new muffler. The body looks a bit under par but is solid. There are some holes behind the doors in the dog legs. The floors are holding up but need to be repaired. There is no other areas of rot or significant rust. The top is like new and has a zip out rear window. The car also comes with a top cover. The interior is not perfect but the carpet seems to be pretty nice. The passenger side window is not installed, it is with the car though. I would prefer to be paid in cash. Shipping can be arranged if desired. Feel free to contact me anytime with questions. 309-696-4280 Nick. This would be a perfect car for a father and son project! But the battery I have it can be used to test drive the car or get onto a trailer. If the sale reaches $1500 I will throw in a hardtop that fits the car.
