1965 Pontiac Catalina Convertible See link for even more detailed photos : http://s7.beta.photobucket.com/user/nathandougal/library/ 462 cubic inch Pontiac V-8 (455 c.i. with cylinders bored .030)The 462 cubic inch was built in late 2008, installed several months later in May 2009 while I prepped headers, installed torque converter, etc. Got on the road late summer 2009 have only put on 100 miles or so a year ( if even that much) since. The engine has only just been broken in.Engine built by Ron Rocchi, long time engine building tech advisor for Pontiac Oakland Club International http://www.POCI.orgPontiac Performance Engineering 9444 North Marion Ave. Morton Grove, IL 60053 Phone: (847) 966-0998 Email: pontiacron421@comcast.net Specializing In Engine Rebuilding. I laid a flat piece of vinyl underneath the split and it is not very noticeable for a driver level carBack seat needs reupholstery frayed at the top of the seat where meets convertible top well wall (you can live with it like I have for a driver car though)Pontiac 2+2 door panels are good, but armrests need to be recoveredRed carpet is tired, but not gross - the red carpet mats are newer and look goodTransmission shifts wellHas new Lokar Cable Shift Linkage to clear headers : http://www.jegs.com/i/Lokar/625/ACA-1804/10002/-1?CAWELAID=1710859646&catargetid=1784157977&&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CLqzorD4lrUCFbSnPAodx1oAGQThe linkage needs a little adjustment because there is a vague feeling at shifter between gears, works fine though2400 Stall speed B&M holeshot torque converter works really well with the 3.23 posi rearend gears and the torque of the stout 462 engineThe front end suspension is good, but not the tightest feeling - when steering wheel is maxed out clockwise to the right and a turn is taken with any incline, you can hear the tire rub on somethingHEI distributor works very wellA couple of years ago put lucas stop leak in power steering (in response to a leak) and it has been good since, but may need attention at some pointTrunk has some pinholes and soft spots, but I would just leave it. I did hit it with rust inhibitor and paint a few years ago. I suppose it would be good to do the same from the accessible bottom at some pointFrame is goodMufflers are Walker #17749 Dynomax According to Jim Hand in How to Build Max Performance Pontiac V-8s, these 20" mufflers offer the best blend of performance, sound and least resistance. See below: http://www.pontiacstreetperformance.com/psp/exhaust.htmlH- crossover pipe installed in new aluminized 2.5" dual exhaust Selling because I am building a 1968 firebird convertibleThe car runs and drives excellentIt accelerates extremely well and can chirp the tires in the first 2 gears, The cat is really quick for a full size car (of course, it was built to do so! - the combination of engine, cam, stall speed/trans and rear gears was selected with a lot of research and planning- these were not just thrown together) Car is for sale locally, reserve right to stop auction at any timeI strongly encourage you to come see the car in personBid with confidence, my 100% feedback was earnedNo Warranty expressed or impliedCan help with shipping, but will not facilitate it myselfNon-refundable $500 deposit due within 48 hours of end of auctionPayment in Cash, Cashiers Ch. or United States postal service m.o. for balance - will release car once cashiers ch. Every single bullet point, indeed, every single word contains important accurate info about the car. Also, make sure to read the answered questions that are included in the text of this auction: very important. Finally, make sure to look at every single photograph in the photobucket library by the link ( which may need to be copied into your browser window to reach). This is a 47 year old car with all the hard work done, but it has all kinds of little things that need work. If you do not know what you are doing with vintage cars, or don't have someone experienced with vintage cars advising you, or aren't up for learning - I recommend not to bid on this or any old car.On Feb-10-13 at 14:25:08 PST, seller added the following information: Dear dan1153, Oh, It will be a bit before I can check on the F, G, or H . . . if it really matters to know that (?). I added to the listing description a full manufacturers photo of the Spectre Performance Ram Air/ Cold Air Induction Air Cleaner Ram Air Tube System. I have the tubes and brackets to complete it as a Ram Air / Cold air induction system ( they will go with the car). Also, I have a custom base on the air cleaner (with a perfect circle plasma cutter cut) cleanly made from a Rochester Quadrajet factory air cleaner base - so it fits factory perfect on the Quadrajet.
