Vehicle Detail
Rat Rods are by the very culture defined as "without rules". OK I get that. But if you are interested in Rat Rods you know as well as I do that some just flat out miss the mark – whatever mark that is. This one doesn't miss anything! This Rat Rod has the right everything and it is not in a magazine or on Google Images – this one is actually for sale. For Sale because my teenage sons need cars they can actually drive in the MI winters. So our family favorite Hot Rod is up For Sale. This is an incredibly cool Rat Rod. It gets more looks, stares and glares – good and bad than any car I have ever owned. People either love it (those cool people on the planet) or hate it (mostly uptight Soccer Moms on cell phones in mini-vans). I literally get cell phone-taped nearly every time I drive it. It is safe enough, but frankly rides like a Go Kart with a strapped V-8 in it. If you are looking for a quiet cushy weekend cruiser this isn’t it. This is a loud little beast with a great personality. You will have tons of fun in this. Good luck getting anywhere – you will meet more people than ever! It fires up instantly, run strong and loud, it’s not fast she runs 55-65 very comfortably, I’ve been on the expressways with it, but that is not for wimps, visibility is a challenge. This is by no means a deathtrap, it runs good and stops fine, the structure is very solid. It is so low it will drag the pipes occasionally on inclines – who cares, just more people staring and smiling. I wish I could say I built it, I did not. I added the easy stuff. Here is what I have and know from the original builder, previous owner and myself. 1927 Ford Model T 2D tudor Sedan w/ Clear Title and Registration VIN 46721M 1927 Michigan License Plate (registered and street legal in MI) No patches – no paint – body solid w/ some minor lower rust Ground to roof car is only 43” tall – I am 6’ and fit fine, but head room is obviously limited Solid Suicide Doors – no glass – bear claw latches Front Windshield is from a 1932 Ford 5 window Coupe and fit to car with original swing out motion Rare 1932 Ford Grill Engine is 350 ci bored .030 over w/ 327 Camel back Heads, nice cam great throttle response Transmission is a Turbo 350 Automatic Sun Visor for w structural cool holes (and good for viewing of traffic signals) Authentic Ultra Rare 1920’s Hubley Air Ford Cast Iron Monoplane Radiator Cap (from Ford Air Reliability Tours) Value $ 550.
