Vehicle Detail
Corvette. The very word conjures images of smoking thunder. 84,xxx miles350 V8Manual transmission (4 speed + OD in 2, 3, 4, aka 4+3)Black paint in great shapeBlack interior in great shapeAll glass in great shapeSmoked glass roof (removable), appears black from the outsideGreat tiresGood brakesNew radiatorNew O2 sensorMAF sensor works great! All dash lights workPower antenna worksGreat torque and powerAppears 100% originalThe bad:AM/FM/Cassette Stereo, radio reception is spottyInside driver's door bezel has a flawCruise control didn't set when I tried it This 1988 C4 Corvette is in fantastic shape with only 84,000 miles. The jet-black paint has excellent finish and gloss. The black interior is in great condition as well. The seats are in great shape with no rips or tears. Fire up the engine and the exhaust has a deep rumble and a nice roar under full song. The engine runs healthy and strong and pulls like a freight train from 2,000 rpm. The 4+3 manual transmission shifts great and the clutch has no shudder or shake. Be careful pulling away from the light--it's hard not to spin the tires or put your foot in it. This car comes equipped with a removable smoked glass roof. From the outside, it blends in with the black paint, looking like it's a painted component. From the inside, there's a great view upwards, with enough tint to keep the sun from beating down. For those really hot days, the air conditioning blows cold and keeps you refreshed. Driving this car is a pleasure. You're comfortably ensconced in the bucket seat with all controls to hand. The heavy-duty clutch and the trigger-fast throttle are easily manipulated, with the steering wheel right where you want it. The shifter is perfectly positioned. The view over the hood from the cockpit-like interior reminds me of the Batmobile. And when you get on it, you go like a bat out of ----. This car is remarkably clean. A new radiator and oxygen sensor, combined with a recent tune, bring the mechanicals up to par with the body and interior. Tires are good along with the brakes. The handling is typical Vette, instant response. When you open the hood, the engine and engine compartment is spotless. While this car is not perfect, it's pretty darn close. I'm tempted to keep this car just to play around with it. If you're looking for a nice C4 Corvette at a reasonable price, take a look at this one. I think you'll be impressed.
