Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1974 Corvette Stingray. This is a good looking ride with a T-Top in working order. It has a 350 Cu. In. v8 engine. I bought this car roughly 2 years ago in the summer. It's been a great car to own and a neat piece of history to have around. I bought this car with intentions of being able to drive it more often and give it more care than I have been able to. It's because of the lack of time I have been able to enjoy with the car that I am looking to find it a new home. In my time with the vehicle it has run very well with few problems. At the end of this last summer, before it went back into storage it started having some oddities for the first time. At stops and in reverse, the car started stalling sometimes, the red brake light is constantly lit and the engine would cut out some while driving. It's my opinion that the engine is just in need of a tune up. The only other oddity isn't so odd. After the car has been sitting for extended periods of time the rear end has a noticeable shimmy when turning, but that usually goes away after it warms up a bit or if its been driven recently. Like I said, it doesn't get much drive time and I haven't started it since it's been in storage this winter. Condition Notes: - Comes from a smoke free environment- Few owners, always been a stored car, never been a day to day driver.- Minor cracking of paint on fenders and around antenna (in pictures) - paint in good shape other than that- 87,097 miles - actual miles- Original Air conditioning not in working order- Original radio - not in working order (pictured)- Original seats - leather edges, mesh centers - mesh centers are faded (pictured)- Original carpet (badly faded) (pictured)- Original steering wheel - paint damage on horn (pictured)- Original gauges - all appear to be in working order- Rubber seals old and faded - Don't leak much, but could use to be replaced- Door windows have minor glass damage at the top (pictured) - This is very minimal- Driver side door opens only from the inside handle. It worked for most of the time I've owned it, but recently quit working. I think it simply came undone within the door. I haven't had the chance to look at it.- Rim rings have light scrapes in some places; they are original and the rings can be replaced for about $20/each I believe. (In pictures)- One of the rear mufflers has a small hole in it. All in all, it's a great ride with some minor defects you would expect from a car built in 1974...and it's a classic. Happy bidding and feel free to ask questions. Buyer is to pay $500 via PayPal as a deposit within 48 hours of sale and the rest via a cashier's check. Car must be picked up. I do not recommend driving the car any long distance due to the engine cutout troubles and stalling at stops. I recommend the car be hauled and driven after a tune up.
