In great shape! Affectionaly nickednamed a "Z", the 1977 Datsun 280 Z marked the last of the "1st generation" Z sports car. When its production run ended a year later, it was replaced by the 280 ZX. This particular vehicle is in fine shape - It has been locally owned and driven its whole life - stored well in the winter. The low miles on this car are original and it shows - the inline 170 HP 6-Cyl engine runs smoothly and the car drives very well, maintaining its original sporting nature. There are no leaks, drips or other issues with the motor. The tires are also in good shape, ready for driving! Finished in a striking dark green color, with tan accent stipes, the exterior paint is fading some on the hatch back - some of the original clear coat is peeling off. Also, there are spots where pitting is evident, such as the middle section of the hood. With this rare dark green color, however, it is difficult to notice these imperfections at anything more than 2 feet away. The interior of this car is in fine shape - showing almost no signs whatsoever of wear. The seats are in great shape, as are the carpets and door panels. As this vehicle was stored indoors, the dash is not faded or warped as many of them are. Most importantly, despite its Midwestern life, this vehicle is largely rust free. An inspection of the underside, rocker panels, door panels, etc reveals no signs of major rust. The exceptions are some minor rust in the door jambs, the bottom of the a-pillars, inside the hatch back, and on some of the suspension pieces. Please review the attached photos.
