Up for auction is an extremely hard to find complete 1968 1969 440 Super Commando that came from a 1968 Plymouth GTX Convert I used to own. The reason I am using both 1968 and 1969 years is because the production date of this engine is 11/8/1968 which means it could have gone in both years, however to make it clear I pulled this out of my 1968 Plymouth GTX convertible in 1979, I replaced the engine with a 1964 426 Stage 3 Max wedge because of the visual impact. This engine is complete in the factory teal green paint for that year, it is a standard bore with less than 25000 original miles before it was removed from the vehicle. I have just gone through the entire engine which was stored in kosmoline for the last 20 years. The pistons are the original forged standard bore, the crank is the original forged steel standard never cut, the heads retain all of the original valves, TRW springs, but have just had bronze guides and hardened seats with a three angle valve job done on it, the cam shaft has been replaced with a Herbert custom grind- 272/272/455, the push rods are comp cam chrome molly, the lifters are Erson super pump, timing gear is JS Billet Roller, Oil pump, not pictured is a blue printed Mellings by Precision Pumps, you will see a picture with K member in it that was I had planned on droping this into a 1970 Dodge Dart.
