UP FOR SALE:1978 HONDA CB550KI bought this 550 about a year ago and have been fixing it up since then. Unfortunately my financial situation at the moment will not allow me to keep it .The bike is in excellent shape. I have done many things to it but the frame and engine are in original condition. They were in such great shape that I did not want to touch them. The mechanic that took the engine covers off for me told the motor looked brand new and that it was barely broken in.The forks were rebuilt with Progressive Springs and new seals.The carbs were cleaned and rebuilt with OEM parts.The original seat was reshaped and reupholstered.It has a new MAC Exhaust.Everything that I could take off was Chrome Plated.New TiresThe rotor was drilled and resurfaced and a braided line was installed.The paint is Brandywine with ghosted in stripes. It looks awesome in person.The carbs need to be rejetted by someone that knows what they are doing. It runs good but I know it could run alot better. I have not been able to find someone that will do the job. I had to tape up part of the filters because it was getting to much air. I do not know much about this but I think they need larger jets to be installed. It does leak a little oil on the right side of the cylinder, but the more I have ridden it the less it leaks. The mechanic told me that if I keep riding it it may go away. I do not know if that is true or it just needs a new gasket, the bike is 34 years old.The bike is awesome to ride.Get ready to talk to alot of people. everybody loves it and wants to tell you about the CB they used to have.PLEASE, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY DO NOT WASTE MY TIME.THE LAST GUY THAT BOUGHT IT CAME UP WITH A STORY ABOUT HOW HE WOULD HAVE THE MONEY IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. WELL IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH AND I AM STILL WAITING.
