Vehicle Detail
This truck is a 1986 Eddie Bauer Bronco. It has a 5.0L engine, Electronic Fuel Injection, AOD transmission, and 4 wheel drive. The truck has 31 x 10.50-15 Goodyear Wrangler A/T tires, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cruise Control, Air Conditioning (R134), Power Windows (all 3), Power Door Locks This truck was originally purchased by a fireman/EMT in 1986. It was purchased by my father on July 7th, 1997, with an odometer reading of 76,683 miles, and was driven daily for in town driving, and towing his bass boat when he fished tournaments. He lived in a suburban area of North Atlanta, and didn’t use it to haul or for anything other than transportation for himself and his golden retriever. In 2002, at 122, 000 miles, he had the original transmission rebuilt, complete rear end replaced, and a new Jasper high output engine installed. I nearly 2003, he saw a new truck he liked and bought it. I bought the bronco from him on July 25th, 2003, with 137,760 miles. I used the Bronco for towing my motorcycle trailer, and letting my yellow lab ride with me. I had a full dress Harley, an F-150, and a Cadillac Seville I alternated between for my daily driving duties which attributed to keeping the mileage lower. This truck has done very well with many things rebuilt on it over the years. Current Truck Mileage: 178,082 My wife recently surprised me with a new truck for Christmas, and said it was time for me to have a new truck. I don’t want to sell this Bronco as it has been part of my family for so long, but she’s right. In the last year these things have been done. The front brakes have new drilled and slotted rotors, bearings, calipers, master cylinder, and ceramic brake pads installed. The old worn auto-locking hubs were removed, and Mile Marker stainless premium hubs were installed. The rear brakes received new wheel cylinders, all new brake hardware, self adjusters, and shoes. The rear drive shaft was completely redone with all 3 new u-joints, and a new constant velocity joint. The transmission pan was replaced with one with a drain plug simply because I got very tired of that mess when changing the fluid and filter. The headlights were converted to the Halogen kit from LMC truck complete with the high output harness and relays kit. A Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system was installed. A K&N lifetime air filter installed. New ignition cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and distributer installed. There is a story behind this that has to do with my father’s 1987 F150 and having him flat bedded off the highway to my house one night. New battery installed. In the last month several things have been done. The gas tank started leaking at the seam, so a new 33 gallon tank, sending unit, pump, and strainer were installed. The headliner was coming apart, so a new headliner was installed. The seat belt buckles, between the seats and center console were replaced since one broke and wouldn’t latch any longer, and the plastic holding them was all broken up from being so old. The truck developed a small coolant leak, so a new water pump, and bypass hose were installed. The coolant leak seems to have been fixed. My driveway is still clean. The truck has new oil change, and a new oil pressure sending unit. Got the scare of my life after the oil change last Sunday during the Falcons game. Cranked it up and no pressure was indicated. The sending unit was all it took. To sum this up, this is a nice truck. Is it new? No, it isn’t. In fact, its 27 years old. Is it perfect? No, it isn’t. Is it dependable and full drivable? Yes, it is. This is a 1986 Full Size Bronco, with the removable top (which my father and I have never had off the truck), that is ready to drive daily. In fact, I drove it in to work this morning and left my new truck at home. I am starting the bidding at a price, and do have a reserve set also. I am including a good many pictures which were taken at my home on January 20th, 2013. I reserve the right to end the auction early because the truck is for sale locally also. If you’re serious and want me to entertain an offer, then send me a message. Please be realistic though. I don’t need to sell it for the money, but to make the wife happy. If it doesn’t sell, she’ll just have to be unhappy for a while.J On Jan-26-13 at 05:07:48 PST, seller added the following information: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (PLEASE READ): In the second paragraph I stated in the year of 2002, and the mileage of 122,000. Those numbers came from copies of service records from a file I had on the truck. While having dinner last night, my father mentioned he had some paperwork still in some files. We found the rear axle was done in the year of 2000 at 122,000 miles. My mistake came from reading the original yellow carbon copies, and I realized that when I compared them to my father’s copies he still had. The copies I had were old and the numbers weren’t very clear on the yellow carbon copies. This worked out even better for whoever purchases this truck. The paperwork my father had also showed the engine had been purchased on 5/17/2000, and installed on 4/27/01 at a mileage of 124,000, by Wayne’s Auto Service in Suwanee, Georgia. Wayne’s is still open, and is an authorized shop which met the Jasper warranty requirements. I asked why the period lapse between the purchase date, and the install date. My father showed me pictures from the BASS fishing tournaments for that period and told me the engine sat in the shipping crate at Wayne’s until he could take time off traveling to have it installed. ***All this actually is even BETTER for whoever purchase this truck. It means the truck has been driven LESS than we thought. This means the rear end has 56,082 miles on it since 2000 (13 years), and the engine assembly only has 54,082 miles on it since 2001 (12 years). This comes to an average of 4500 miles a year since it was installed 4/27/2001. He still had the original packet that came with the engine. It contained: · Original Jasper paperwork on the 75,000 mile/36 month warranty for the engine. · Original Jasper Product Number Card, Product Number 923798, Stock Number 145813 · Original Buyers Warranty Registration Card which shows the engine purchased on 5/17/2000, at a mileage of 124,000. · And the Original receipt from Wayne’s Auto Service in Suwanee, Georgia for the complete engine assembly installation, AND the Magnaflow Cat-back exhaust system dated 4/27/01. WE ARE GOING TO PROVIDE ALL OF THE TRUCKS PAPERWORK TO THE BUYER. On Jan-28-13 at 14:41:12 PST, seller added the following information: A note. I have been asked about the 4wd hubs. The ones currently installed are Premium Stainless manual locking hubs. They were installed in august 2012, about 500 miles agon. I "DO HAVE" the "original" auto-locking hubs also.
