Made in Germany, this specific vehicle has been used primarily as my transportation to and from college for the past 3 years. As such, most of the miles I've put on it are highway. After sitting for two months, and then replacing the battery, the car started right up-- in 14 degree Fahrenheit weather! The car runs strong and smooth, with no misfires, clanking noises, or knocks. The brake vacuum pump was rebuilt ~8000 miles ago, and the speedometer and odometer were replaced ~10,000 miles ago. The car had roughly 160,000 miles on it prior to having the odometer replaced, and ~10,000 miles have been put on it since. However, because these odometers only register 99,999 miles, the actual mileage of the car may be greater. The car has a German, locking fuel cap. Mechanically, the car is in great condition. The strut towers are not rusty and absorb shock well. The brakes have about half of the material left on them, and the rotors are in good shape. The windshield is in great condition, and has no cracks. There was a small chip out of the glass, but a windshield repair kit has rendered it all but invisible. The rest of the car's glass is intact and has no problems--even the triangular door vents work! The passenger compartment does NOT leak, and the lights, both interior and exterior all work. A 1979 owner's manual is included, as well as the CLEAN title. Windows crank down on all windows except left rear. It may be frozen due to weather. The clock works great and keeps excellent time. The dashboard has a few cracks from normal age. As far as faults go, the car, being more than 30 years old, has its share. There is quite a bit of rust on the underside. The floor pans on the driver's side of the car have begun to rust. As pictured, the driver's side front floor pan was repaired using a piece of aluminum flashing, rivets, and sealant. There is more rust under the driver's seat. The left rear quarter panel is dented. The front right fender also has a crease. (Note: The car is still very roadworthy and the damage is cosmetic). The heater blower motor stopped working suddenly one day. I believe it is an electrical short or faulty connection. The exhaust pipe needs to be welded, and it is missing one or two rubber hangers, as well as the bracket they hang from. The muffler itself is sound. The horn slowly stopped working over a period of months. A new horn would likely fix the issue. The parking brake's cable has snapped, but it worked fine before breaking. Both rear door handles are broken, which prevents the doors from being opened, from the inside or out (New handles are ~$20 on eBay). Prior to the handles breaking both doors opened smoothly and locked securely. The driver's seat is torn, and sinks to the left. A nonworking radio has been included. The 2 door speakers work OK.
