Vehicle Detail

Up for Aucion is a 70 Mustang Coupe. This car is what I would consider something of a BARN FIND! It was just removed from a storage lot after sitting for several years. It appears to have been someone's PRIDE and JOY in the recent past as there are signs of some form of a restoration having been performed at some point prior to being placed in storage. The core support was replaced with a new remanufactured one sometime after March of 2008 based on the production date sticker that I found on it. The car shows signs of previous body repairs that are showing back up again under the black repaint. There are blemishes and stains on many of the body panels. The upper balljoints are a recent replacement as well as the front and rear brake shoes. Also the engine appears to have been out of the car and been apart at some point as the paint on the engine block and bell housing are recent as well as there is aftermarket gasket sealant showing at the timing cover and oil pan. The engine runs very well and makes no noises or produces any smoke or smells from the exhaust even when started cold. This 302 boasts an Aluminum Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, 4 Barrel Carburetor and a set of long tube headers that dump into a dual exhaust system with "H" pipe. It sounds quite healthy at the tips of the pipes that peak out from under the rear valance. The exhaust is tight and leak free from engine to the tips at the rear. The C4 Automatic Transmission's gears are selected through a B&M Performance Shifter. There are no issue that I have found with the engine or transmission. Engine runs cool, (maybe too cool), just above the C on the temp gauge. The oil pressure is EXCELLENT!! Just below the H on the Oil Pressure Gauge,(Even after running for more than a half hour). The interior shows to be a older restoration and still in very decent shape overall. The carpet is very nice as are both front bucket seats and the dash top. The Grant Sport Steering Wheel is Very Nice and in Good Condition. The Kenwood AM/FM/CD Digital Stereo System produces a very nice sound. Door Panels and Rear Side Panels are decent as is the Rear Package Tray. Most of the door and roof rail seals have been replaced at some point and are still in decent shape. The glass is good all around. The missing trim that goes around the rear window appears to be in good shape and is in the trunk. The drivers floor pan and the drivers side of the trunk pan have rusted through as well as the bottom of the passengers side front torque box. Otherwise the rest of the sub-structure and chassis sheetmetal are solid. There is some bubbling paint in each of the quarters as well as the a few small spots on each door and trunk lid. The car is sitting on a set of nice aftermarket alloy wheels that are wrapped in 225/60-15 tires. The tires do have about 90% tread and hold air just fine however they are showing signs of dryrot cracks in the sidewalls. The overall condition of this car in my opinion is ABOVE AVERAGE for a Mustang of this vintage. Things That Have Just Been Done to This Car: Brand New Brake Cylinders and Hoses Gas Tank Removed and Cleaned Brand New Starter Solenoid New Engine, Trans and Brake Fluids THIS CAR STARTS, RUNS, DRIVES AND STOPS AND CAN BE TEST DRIVEN!!! Personal Inspections Welcome but must be completed before the last day of the auction. Due to the condition of the tires I would recommend trailering this car if personal pickup is desired. This would be a GREAT CAR for someone that is looking for a good solid car as a project car or to just drive and enjoy!!!
