Vehicle Detail
1979 International Scout, 62k original documented miles, rust free Texas Scout, mostly original paint. Driven to Nationals the past two years at 500 miles per trip without issues and it won first place in its class both years. 345 runs very strong, 727 auto shifts well, 3.07 axles, excellent brakes, single exhaust with cat converter, original seats, carpet, etc. A/C needs a compressor. 703- two five five-0177On Jan-24-13 at 08:45:41 PST, seller added the following information: I will answer some of the questions I have received. The tires have less than 3,000 mile on them. The wheels are original IH and have been powder coated. The original mirrors have been re-chromed and are in excellent condition. How is the exhaust? I installed a new muffler and cat converter. The Y pipe and rear pipe look to be original and are in good condition. Would the Scout make a long trip? I have driven it on two, 1,000 plus trips without issues, so it should make a long trip, but a can't guarantee it. Does the interior need any work? The dash pad is perfect, the seats are very nice except for a tear on the side of the driver seat. I have original material to repair this and had an estimate of $75 for the repair. The carpet is excellent with one tear near the brake pedal. How is the weatherstripping? All the weatherstripping is excellent: doors, liftgate and tailgate. How is the glass? Excellent with a new windshield. Does it have a spare tire? Yes, with an original Tiempo tire on it and original russet spare tire cover. (the tiempo is worn and needs a valve step) How are the brakes? Excellent. It's the best stopping Scout that I have owned and I have owned a few of them. If you are looking or an original Scout that has not been hacked up, rusted and repaired etc, this Scout for you. There is nothing like a low mileage, original Scout. On Jan-24-13 at 12:19:43 PST, seller added the following information: I re-installed the piece of trim missing from the interior. (near the headliner towards the rear of the Scout)
