Vehicle Detail

I have for sale a 1980 Suzuki GS450 E "project" bike.Although not running, this is far from a basket case.It has a burnt up CDI, or "ignitor box" as it is sometimes referred to. I purchased a Boyer Brandsen Electronic ignition to remedy this, but there may be some machining required to fit it properly. As such, this would probably not be a project for someone who is just getting to know their way around vintage bikes, rather this would be ideal for someone who has some skill and machinery at their disposal.I have had the bike running before the CDI went out, it has good compression and sounded strong.I have done some small modifications to the bike, including new rear shocks, rebuilt master cylinder with new front brake shoes and speed bleeder installed, period-correct fork brace and fork gaiters, dropped Euro style handle bars with genuine Napoleon bar end mirrors, updated front and rear signals, new 1,000 ohm rated NGK spark plug boots (in anticipation of installing the electronic ignition)...UNIfilter reusable foam filter.BRAND NEW oem starter moter, new solenoid and rectifier/regulator unit from Rick's motorsports, new inline blade style fuse, New TruGel battery from Bikemaster with Battery Tender quick-connect installed (the battery tender will be included)...Probably some other things that I'm not remembering at the moment. There are some extra parts including a spare seat and rear cowl, original shocks and front fender. The instrument cluster works as it should and I have brand new bulbs in there, as well as some spares. Also a set of fork seals. No original user's manual but I do have a Clymer manual, as well as wiring diagrams and other paperwork I will include. Tires look decent but I would recommend new rubber for the coming riding season (that's ALWAYS a good idea with a bike that has sat for awhile). This bike could be cleaned up if you really wanted to put the time and energy into it, or just get it running and have a cool MadMax looking little Japanese twin. Known issues: Other than the issues with the CDI box, the turn signals will need to be wired in, there is a exhaust flange bolt that will need to extracted from the head, and there is a dent in the side of the tank that MAY be able to be pulled out by someone experienced in body work. The interior of the tank is surprisingly clean and rust free. As stated it does have a clean and clear title, no issues there. It will be the BUYER's responsibility to arrange pickup or shipping. I will be in close contact to make sure that everything goes smoothly but you are responsible for setting up a hauler. Respond to this ad with any questions, I will be happy to answer any and all of them to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for looking. EDIT: I have added a photo of what the bike would look like with the front fairing on, although there are different bars and mirrors on there now (lower profile). The Honda cafe bike will NOT be included in this sale! Suzuki, GS, 450. cafe racer, project bike
