Vehicle Detail
This is a 1931 Chevy 2 door, 5 Window Coupe. It is a project car! The title is clear and in my name. This car is located in Northern Virginia near Dulles Airport, about 25 miles west of Washington, DC. I may be able to have the car transported to Northeast Ohio (Canfield, Ohio - right next to Youngstown, Ohio and almost directly in the middle between Cleveland, Ohio and Pittsburgh, PA. That is a 300 mile trip one way and will cost another $200 for the transport. Otherwise, the car can be picked up where it now resides, in Northern VA. Any other transport needs to be arranged and paid for by the buyer. AUCTION ENDS on Saturday, January 19th, 2013 @ 2:00 PM/EST DON'T MISS OUT! BID NOW or use a Sniping service like BIDROBOT! LOOK CLOSELY at the photos! No surprises! You get what you see. If you have a question, then please ask before bidding. I recommend that you come take a look before you bid. I want the new owner to be completely satisfied with this 31 Coupe. Check my feedback - I used to sell 1965 1966 1967 1968 Mustang Fastbacks on eBay. I sold 96 fastbacks and stopped selling about 5 years ago. Every buyer was completely happy with their purchase. I want to keep it that way. I've owned this car for a long time and only got around to titling it about 6 years ago. It has a posi traction Ford 9" rear with 4.10 or 4.11 gears (can't remember which). It's 5 Lug, 4/12" pattern (Ford). The front axle is a drop down Ford 5 lug, 4 1/2" from Speedway Motors, disc brakes on the front (no miles), big drum brakes on the rear. The frame has been treated on the inside with Eastwood's Frame Sealer and the frame is boxed (somewhat of an amateur welding job by me). The floor has been channelled - removed entirely because I dropped the body about 7 inches. I did not get around to putting in a new floor. This is a project car! It cannot be driven until you finish it. I don't have the time or the desire because I am getting ready to retire and we're moving 300 miles away. The engine is a 1965 Ford 289 which runs good, but I haven't started it in about 5 years. It will start and run, but I have to rig up an ignition system but I never completed the wiring on the car. There is a wiring harness installed, just not connected anywhere. The transmission is a Ford Four Speed Toploader that is in excellent condition. I had a custom driveshaft made, but it isn't installed because it would have been in the way when I was going to start working on the new floor. You get what you see in the photos. The front windshield has a crack on the driver's side, but it's flat glass and needed to be replaced with safety glass anyway. The Smithy's mufflers have never been used, bought new for this car. New fuel tank, discs, calipers, rotors, power brake master cylinder and booster, etc... You finish it, nothing is really finished or hooked up. I have the original dashboard and there are some other parts that I'm going to pull from my shed and garage and they are in the auction too. I will try to add more photos of the other things that I will/may add, but that has usually been about impossible to do with eBay. So, I will add to the list in writing - make sure you scroll down and read EVERYTHING! The seats are from a 1965 Thunderbird - the second one is not shown, but same color and in better condition. A used wood spoke steering wheel from a mustang will be included. You'll need to bring plenty of tie-down straps to tie down the body and the frame to your trailer, and there are a lot of spare parts that will need to go into the bed of a pick-up truck since there is no floor in the '31 Coupe. LOOK CLOSELY at the photos! No surprises! You get what you see. If you have a question, then please ask before bidding. A downpayment of $250 is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction, via PayPal. The full balance is due within 7 days of the end of the auction (not 7 days from when the deposit was paid). I'd prefer the balance as a cashiers or certified check that must clear before I will release the car. I'd rather not have the balance paid via PayPal - they charge too much. Please, no bartering on the price after the auction ends. I won't raise the price on you, please don't ask me to lower the price for you (yes, this has happened). This car is sold As Is, Where Is, with no guarantees or warranties of any kind. Good Luck! On Jan-15-13 at 18:20:55 PST, seller added the following information: IMPORTANT! BAD NEWS UPDATE!!! DO NOT BID UNTIL YOU READ THIS: I'm lowering the reserve price because I haven't been able to find the driveshaft or the dash panel. The dash panel is a pretty simple piece of thin, almost flat steel that bolts on. I'm still looking and I believe they will show up (I have a lot of stuff to search through). But, if they do not show up I will reduce the buyer's price by another $300 at the end of the auction. There are '31 Chevy dashes on eBay from time to time. They usually run about $100 - $125. The driveshaft wasn't expensive and I have the end pieces to have a new one made. I believe the items will turn up and if they do I will state so in this auction and the final price to be paid will be the final price showing at the end of the auction. Please, do not bid and then complain that there's no driveshaft or dash panel - I'm trying to warn you before you bid past the reserve! However, I dropped the reserve price just in case they don't show up. I ADDED a nice, original 1931 Chevy fold-up hood as part of this auction (there's one on ebay right now without the pop-out vents that mine has - that seller wants $400 BIN). I also added some old car used taillights and a set of (4) stock 5 lug steel wheels that will work on disc brakes. I'll add more as I find items. On Jan-17-13 at 14:08:53 PST, seller added the following information: I found the driveshaft and it's now with the car! Stay posted about the dash
