This unit was converted in Elkhart, IN when new to a 16 passenger airport shuttle bus. It spent first 10 years of its life at the Atlanta airport and never saw any highway use. It was fleet maintained. Our family purchased it, gutted the inside, and converted it to a day camper with an inverter, microwave, and fold down beds. We installed a class 3 trailer hitch to mount a bicycle rack and the hitch was never used to pull a trailer. We had the van completely serviced having all belts and rubber hoses replaced. Freightliner excuted intake recall. Every mechanic that has looked at this vehicle has been impressed with its good mechanical condition. Had the transmission and rear end flushed and refilled. The mechanic that performed the work said the fluid that came out looked brand new. Our family travelled in this unit and had these mechanical repairs done to prevent any roadside break downs while on our trip. Unit performed flawlessly on a 3 week, 4000 mile, 4 corners camping trip. It averaged 20-22 miles per gallon. You are purchasing an empty unit with a carpeted bus floor, upholstered walls, and an electronic bus door. Eventhough you will see pictures, you are buying an empty unit. If you would prefer to purchase it with individual components of the amateur conversion, they are for sale separately for a total of $900. There is no buy it now. Unit is for sale locally devoid of interior for $10,900.00. Get here and pay the price. The reserve is $10,000.00 empty. We have used this to haul 10 youth and 2 adults, slept 4 comfortably, microwaved food and even had a port a potty in it. However due to college obligation and the inability to travel as a family, we are putting the unit up for sale. We feel the money could be used for our children's education. However, we are not giving the unit away. Check engine light is on but has not affected the performance or mileage. Six brand new tires, brakes are good, body has a few scratches, headlights are foggy. We have never used the air conditioner but everything seems to work--it might need a recharge. This unit has a commercial rear heater and air conditioner.
