Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a very rare 1991 Trans Am convertible. For those of you that know GM cars you know the rarity a collectibility of these cars. For those who do not know I will give you a little background. 1991 was the first year of the "Banshee" front end, which was only made in 1991 and 1992. In 1991 there were only 555 total Trans Am convertibles built. The convertibles were built by ASC Mclaren company. From the research that I have done this is 1 of 66 Trans Am's that have the Metallic Green with the Saddle Leather interior. The car is truley amazing and I will go through everything that I know about it. It is all stock inside and out. It Only has a little over 85,000 miles on the car. The only things that have been done to the car is one paint job, a new top, and an aftermarket CD Player. The car has had three owners beside me, which have only owned about a month. The first two owners were in Florida. They were neighbors, the second owner always wanted the car from the day his neighbor brought it home from the dealership and was finally able to purchase it from him some years later. The third owner was a GM collector who had everything from Classic Camaro's to a 2006 GTO. They only reason he sold it is because he was buying some differnet toys. Drivetrain: The car has a 305 engine, which was the only engine offered in the convertible mounted to a 700R4 automatic transmission. The engine runs great and fires right up everytime. The transmission shift great in every gear with no slipping or hard shifts. There are no fluids coming from the engine, transmission, or rear end of the car. As I stated before, it is all original so you do not have to worry about getting somebodies project that they hacked up. I would drive this car across country and feel perfectly safe. It also has the WS6 suspension upgrade on it. I would rate the mechanics of the car a 9 out of 10 with nothing that needs to be fixed or repaired. Body: The body of the car is in very good condition, especially for its age. It was repainted once a little over a year ago. There is one spot on the hood where the paint peeled some, I am not sure what caused it to happen. Besides that the rest of the car is in very good shape. The car is a southern car its whole life so there is no rust at anywhere on the car. The driver side door does need the hinges replaced and the trunk shocks need to be replaced. It has the beautiful Gold honeycomb wheels with the WS6 center caps. The tires have about 85% tread life all the way around it. The top on it is a little over a year old and is in very good shape. It is manual, as they all were, so you do not have to worry about any problems with motors going bad. I would rate the body of the car a 7 out of 10. Electronics: The electronics on the car are in good shape. All of the gauges works as they are suppose to, except the oil pressure gauge. When it is first started it works fine but then stops working. The previous owner said that it had done this the whole time that he had it. All the other gauges work fine. All interior lights works as they are suppose to as well. The pop up head lights go up and down fine and the factory fog lights work great. The driver side window is a little sluggish going up and down. I would replace to make it work better. CD player plays just as it should. I would rate the electronics of the car as a 8 out of 10. Interior: The interior of the car is about as nice as you will find for an original car from 1991. The leather seats do not have any tears or serious worn spots in them at all. The dash does not have any cracks in it, which is rare for a car of this age. The carpet is in pretty good shape with no holes or major wear spots in it. I would rate the interior 8 out of 10. You will not find many original cars that are in this shape from 1991. It is not a show car but in very nice shape. I would keep the car myself because of the rarity and the fact that it is only going up and value but I really do not want to drive it a lot due to the low miles and the kids are always wanting to ride in it. You can look on craigslist anywhere around here and on Ebay and you will not find another 1991 Trans Am convertible, which will attest to how rare these cars are. . On Jan-14-13 at 18:26:09 PST, seller added the following information: Just to answer a few questions that I have received on the car: All electronics work including the power aentenna. It still goes up and down flawlessly whenever the radio is turned on or off. It has front disc breaks and rear drum brakes on it It has only 85k original miles on the whole carOn Jan-16-13 at 14:37:12 PST, seller added the following information: The car does have the 205 HP Tune Port Injection (TPI)
