Armor Package · ¼” high-hardness ballistic steel used to protect all opaque areas. · 40mm (1.57”) transparent ballistic glass with polycarbonate no-spall layer on all transparent areas. · Tailgate/window armor is separated. The tailgate itself is armored on opaque area and the transparent (window) armor is installed on the vehicle bulkhead to minimize the weight stress on the tailgate. This also gives the vehicle a more covert look. · Runflat inserts in the tires. Currently winter tires are installed. Vehicle Condition The vehicle is in good condition, especially for its age. The car was formally owned by a wealthy family who maintained multiple armored vehicles. As you can see by the mileage, this Explorer has not been excessively used. There are various scratches, dings, and scrapes on both the interior and exterior. The vehicle in general shows wear but nothing compared to what a unit with 150,000+ would show. The vehicle is available to be seen in Northern, VA. Please contact me for more details. The only big issue found was the windshield, which has a crack down the middle. The crack does not pose a security risk and the glass can still withstand the original ballistic threats. A new windshield can be installed for approximately $3,000 if the buyer so chooses. The old windshield can be shipped off to a company who will build a replacement based on the original dimensions. This vehicle is in great mechanical condition and would make a perfect low profile security vehicle for those who need the protection of an armored vehicle but don't want to spend $200,000 on a new one.
