I purchased this BJ42 in 2011 direct from New Zealand and had it shipped to the US. This truck was originally built for the Australian market, so it's right hand drive with the legendary 3b diesel engine. The truck starts and runs strong, is a blast to drive around, and gets a lot of attention. I am selling because I just bought a new fixer-upper house and need the cash. **(Please note: Vehicle is a 1981, not 1980. Because it was built for the Australian market, it has a non standard VIN of BJ42001990. Ebay requires a VIN be entered for vehicles 1981 and newer, but does not allow for non-standard VIN's, so I listed the truck incorrectly as a 1980 model to get around this) During 2012 I had the following work done, all of which was done by profession mechanics and/or body shop: *New paint inside and out (Dune Beige 416 body, Landcruiser white top, grill, and wheels)*New BF Goodrich A/T KO 33 X 10.50 Tires (less than 500 miles on these tires) including spare*New Old Man Emu deluxe 2.5" lift kit with springs, shocks, and greasable shackles *New front brake pads, shoes, spring kit*New wheel cylinders, all 4 wheels*All fluids changed and all nipples greased*New Front Bumper*New Side Mirrors*New front and rear turn signals and rear corner reflectors*New weather stripping at windows and roof including window channels*New Serengeti powder coated aluminum interior door panels, black*New headliner*New Hell for Stout steering damper (not installed) Along with typical wear for a used vehicle, please note the following: There was a snorkel installed by the previous owner which I removed, leaving a hole in the front driver side quarter panel. There is a black steel screen painted flat black mounted behind this hole as seen in the photos. There is no stereo or speakers installed. Australian models did not have rear seats as standard equipment. I removed the rear tire mount for aesthetics, but will include in the sale (it's not currently painted to match). There is corrosion on the exhaust system. For those not familiar with diesels, this was a cold start, so before turning the key, it's turned counter clockwise and held for 15 seconds to warm the glow plugs. I received several messages and will continue to answer any other questions people have until the close of auction. Here are some answers to the most common questions: 1. I do not plan to end the auction early for a cash sale, but thanks for asking. I plan to let the auction run it's course. 2. The truck is in good condition but is not in "show" condition. There very little corrosion to be found anywhere except for the exhaust system. The exhaust is still sound, but replacing it would probably have been the next thing I worked on. 3. Bidding is currently limited to the US and Canada. If you bid from outside these countries, please be aware that you alone will be responsible for pick up and export through customs.
