Vehicle Detail

THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ERA IN THE AUTOMOBILE HOBBY WITH THE MYSTIQUE OF THE MUSCLE CAR ERA. THOSE OF US LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE LIVED THROUGH THAT TIME PERIOD REMEMBER THE DAY WHEN FACTORY HOT RODS, MODIFIED STREET MACHINES, AND GROUND POUNDING RACE CARS PROWLED THE STREETS AND DRAGSTRIPS. ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR CANDIDATES FOR MODIFICATIONS WAS THE CHEVROLET CAMARO. THE ORIGINAL FACTORY DESIGN EASILY ALLOWED FOR ALMOST ANY DRIVETRAIN AND SUSPENSION UPGRADE. TO THIS DAY, THE CAMARO IS STILL DOMINANT AT DRAG STRIPS AND ON THE STREETS ACROSS THE NATION. CURRENTLY, SOME OF THE MOST POPULAR AND UNIQUE EXAMPLES SOUGHT AFTER BY COLLECTORS AND ENTHUSIASTS ARE THE VINTAGE, OLD SCHOOL RACE CARS AND STREET MACHINES. PLEASE VIEW ALL THE PHOTOS AND READ THE COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. DUE TO DEMAND, BUILDERS AND RESTORERS ARE RECREATING DAY TWO PERFORMANCE CARS AS A TRIBUTE TO THE OLD SCHOOL DAYS. THIS 1967 RS CAMARO IS NOT A MODERN BUILD, IT IS THE REAL DEAL, A FINE EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE VINTAGE OLD SCHOOL HOT RODS. TO VIEW A COMPLET LIBRARY OF PHOTOS OF THIS UNIQUE CLASSIC, CLICK ON THIS LINK- http://s1080.photobucket.com/albums/j325/AB0702/1967%20Camaro/ In 1964, General Motors gave the "green light" and go-ahead for the F-car project, in response to Ford's Mustang "Pony Car." Two years later, the Chevrolet Camaro hit the ground running, and with the exception of a hiatus between 2002 fourth and 2009 fifth generation models, evolution and production of this vehicle has continued. The Camaro was based on the upcoming 1968 Chevy Nova platform, and featured a unibody structure from the windshield and firewall back, with a separate steel rail subframe for everything up front. The Camaro was available from the start in hardtop coupe and convertible body styles, and could be order with nearly 80 factory options and 40 dealer accessories, including three main option packages and a choice of four different engines. The RS package included numerous cosmetic changes including a blacked out grill with hidden headlights, revised parking and tail lights, upgraded interior trim, and RS badging. Of greater interest to enthusiasts was the SS package which included as standard equipment a modified 350 cid V8 (the first 350 engine Chevy ever offered) with an available 396 cid big block producing 325bhp (L35) and later a 375bhp version, along with simulated air-intakes on the hood, special bumble bee striping, and a blacked out grill. It was possible to order both the RS and SS packages, and get a RS/SS Camaro, in which case the RS badging took precedence. Camaro popularity soared when a RS/SS Convertible with the 396 paced the 1967 Indianapolis 500 race. From the beginning, performance companies realized the potential of this sleek factory hot rod. Baldwin-Motion, Yenko Chevrolet, Berger Chevrolet, Nickey Chevrolet, Gibb Chevrolet, and numerous other groups all produced their own versions of the performance Camaro. Engine combinations ranged from various size small blocks up to the monstrous 427 and 454 engines. However, purchasing one of these cars can be cost prohibitive, with asking prices well into six figures. There is another group of vehicles that were modified and upgraded by small shops, racers, and enthusiasts. This group offers the similar old school look and power, but with asking prices more in tune with everyone's budget. The Camaro in this auction is as old school as it gets. First built as a race car/street machine, and then put in storage. Recently brought out, freshened and cleaned up, and ready to hit the street, cruises, or track. This vintage hot rod will draw crowds anywhere you display it. All steel, clean body panels. Body appears original except for the addition of a steel cowl hood. Slight bubbling at the bottom of both fenders. Nantucket Blue. Finish is old, but has some beautiful patina. Some of the paint appears to be original. Even though the finish is aged and somewhat faded, there is still a bit of a shine. Absolutely rock solid, no rust in the usual places. Odometer displays 77,037 miles, and it appears it could be original. White nose stripe. Blacked out grille with hideaway headlights. Cragar five spoke wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on the front. M/T ET Streets , 28x11.50x15LT mounted on deep dish Rally Wheels on the rear. Rear bumper guards. Single sport mirror. Original chrome, stainless, and brightwork in good condition. Glass is in good condition. Black vinyl bucket seat interior in good condition. Original Rally Sport steering wheel. Console in good condition. Deluxe door panels in good condition, one crack on edge of driver side panel. A few small cracks in passenger panel. Carpet is worn, appears to be original. Lap belts. Fold down back seat, in good condition. Front buckets are in good condition. One small tear on back of driver side bucket. Vintage Mobil Alert alarm system. Dash and gauges in good condition. Sun Super Tach II. Sun Pro water temp, oil pressure, and volt gauges. Sony AM/FM/Cassette/CD. This car was run in the stock class, so signals, lights, brake lights, turn signals all work. Heater works. The heart of this old school warrior is in the engine bay. 1967 327 cu. in., 275 HP engine, KL code. Double hump iron heads. Holley four barrel carburetor mounted on an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. Hydraulic roller cam and valve train. Pete Jackson gear drive. Accel 300 distributor with Ferro spiral race wires. Accel Super Coil. Aero-Quip dual feed fuel lines. Weiand air cleaner. Moroso tall valve covers. Aluminum water pump. Hooker block hugger headers with Turbo mufflers. Power steering. Turbo automatic transmission. Twelve bolt rear differential. The undercarriage is a great example of the old school design. Not highly detailed. Has the patina of a period build, but everything underneath is rock solid. Heavy duty torsion bar up front. Manual drum brakes all around. Full frame connectors. Factory mono leaf rear springs with ladder bars. Ladder bars are welded to the axle housing. Heavy duty shocks. Driveshaft retainer. Floors, subframe, and trunk floor are solid. Opportunities like this don't surface very often. This is a very unique, hard to find classic hot rod. The selling price is well below actual value. Don't hesitate on this opportunity.
