Relisting my Land Cruiser which was almost at the reserve. Here we have a very original rust free, 1970 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser for auction. Originally sold in Kingman Arizona's Toyota dealership and has always been in Kingman and Seligman, Arizona until June 20, 2012. The Land Cruiser has about 2000 miles above the 80099 indicated on the odometer. This is due to the odometer not functioning at this time. I do not believe the odometer has rolled over, but I am not sure. Please review the pictures to determine the condition. I chose not to paint the Land Cruiser because I like what the Arizona sun did to the paint, it has loads of patina and character, most of my friends said "don't paint it" just maintain it, so that is what I did. You can make the decision to restore or keep like it is. The Land Cruiser is registered as a 1970 the year of original purchase by the first owner, the manufacture date is April 1969. This Land Cruiser would make a very easy restoration due to it's lack of corrosive rust, any rust visible is only slight surface areas. Please review the pictures and carefully inspect the vehicles condition. I have completed the following improvements to the Land Cruiser: carburetor rebuilt, new tires (Big O), the spare has little wear and is non-matching, new valve cover gasket, new battery, battery cables, license plate frames, brake repairs (will be completed during the auction period), replaced dome light cover, oil change and filter, front end lubrication, newer front hubcaps, new radiator hoses, not installed, but will be included in the sale, and detailed some of the engine compartment. Overall condition: The Land Cruiser starts easy and runs very good, some puff of smoke upon start up only if truck has sat for a few days, engine runs cool less than 1/2 of the temp range, essential guages are operational with the exception of the speedometer and odometer. The engine has a Franz toilet paper roll secondary oil filter system. You can see the chrome canister in the engine photos. Brakes work and stop the vehicle well, steering is tight, transmission shifts good but some times it is hard, double clutching resolves the issue, no clutch slippage. Headlights, directional lights and brake lights all work well. All glass is in tact with no cracking, right rear view mirror is cracked as the pictures indicate. The Land Cruiser would benefit a great deal if the gasketing around windows and doors were to be replaced. Drivers side door has a 1/2" of sag, so one or both door hinges would have to be replaced, the left side door alignment is very good, no sagging. All door latches work as they should. The tailgate latches all work well, window hatch works well, even the top window cylinders hold up the hatch, an adjustable wrench aids in tightening down the locking nuts. Appears to mostly original upholstery but I am not totally sure of that. AM radio still works, windshield wipers are in working condition. The fiberglass top does not leak but should be painted in the near future to assure no leaks. Holes from the previous roof rack have been patched. One of the most notable feature of this Land Cruiser is the condition of the interior and exterior of the body. No rust out anywhere on the body, check the floors on the inside especially at the rear where the doors meet the body. There is no rust on the sill and seams. The exterior only has small compression dents, the pictures really tell the story. The interior seats are in good condition with the exception of the drivers seat cushion which has splits, please review the pictures. The Land Cruiser has a current California registration and license, and a clear pink slip title in my name.
